March of the Helldivers is a certified democratic hit that Helldivers 2 players can’t get enough of

Published:

Almost everyone Hell Divers 2 Players love the game’s main theme, A Cup of Liber-Tea. Some fans have even created their own versions that we’d like to play in our Superdestroyers. Now developer Arrowhead Game Studios has blown us away with another absolute hit among the game’s tracks.

March of the Helldivers came out of nowhere, but every democracy-loving musician showed their support for it, as did the Ministry of Music (composer Rose Tregenza) who put it together. This is the first piece for Hell Divers 2 we’ve had that have real lyrics, and they’re about as unanimous as you’d expect. Imagine exactly the kind of song about crashing a Hellpod into an alien world to spread democracy that your Helldivers would want to sing, and you’re not far off.

Arrowhead Game Studio has released a song Twitter via official website Hell Divers 2 account. Looking through the replies, I see more gifs of Helldivers saluting than I can count. I think the main reason is that it came as a complete surprise, completely out of the blue, in the middle of a Sunday. That makes sense though, since the game has a huge spike in players every weekend as they relax from their day jobs, spreading managed democracy to Super Earth.

It didn’t take long for March of the Helldivers to arrive community subreddit as well. Players there are a bit more persuasive in their thoughts. User WithGrit07 said, “The Latin part makes it seem like we’re basically space templars fighting all life forms that oppose us.” I agree with user Abject who added, “I love the “Dive into Martyrdom” – “make your parents proud” lol.”

User Darx117 brought up an intriguing point. “I read the ‘Official Helldivers MERCH’ and was so excited… how come Arrowhead didn’t use any merch??” Aside from the in-game Warbonds and, far-fetched, the first major update for Hell Divers 2there is no talk of any official merchandise.

Digital Extremes has released a single that not only promotes their upcoming expansion, Warframe: 1999but it will also be part of that game’s soundtrack in July 2024. As such, I don’t see why Arrowhead Game Studios couldn’t just put it on Spotify and start making a few pennies from devoted fans blasting it all day long.

Thanks to this song Hell Divers 2 the developer shows once again that they’re not working on a game to make a quick buck. They’re doing it for the long haul, drawing attention to themselves with silly gimmicks like democratically approved music that will hopefully translate to players and fresh Warbond owners. As I’ve mentioned a few times since the game’s release, I can’t wait for an album of in-game and fan music to come out someday.
