Fans of the MapleStory series can rejoice because it looks like the unthinkable has happened and the current version of the game will be coming to North America and Europe in due time! Following a tender launch in behind schedule 2024, MapleStory Worlds will officially come to mobile and PC in Europe and the Americas!
MapleStory Worlds isas far as I know, basically Roblox for MapleStory. You can operate both basic and advanced tools to create your own side-scrolling adventures, whether they be classic RPGs like MapleStory, shooting games, or just socializing with others.
MapleStory Worlds offers cross-platform play on mobile devices and PC. In both trailers and developer feedback, Nexon has been keen to point out how these different experiences can be monetized. However, I’m sure the highlight for many of you will be recreating the classic MapleStory experience using up-to-date and improved tools.
Your own world
I admit that I’m a bit intrigued, but also a bit skeptical when it comes to MapleStory Worlds. I won’t deny that I really enjoy the series’ gorgeous, crunchy pixel aesthetic, but even among longtime fans, I haven’t necessarily seen an outpouring of enthusiasm for Worlds.
Still, MapleStory Worlds promises to let you explore a variety of experiences (or we can just call them minigames), from platforming to zombie survival and more. So maybe treated as a separate platform it is a bit more tasty? To find out, we’ll have to see how well it is accepted now that it’s in full release!
