Apple Arcade seems to have boomed in January with the release of Trials of Mana+, allowing fans of the classic Mana series to get their hands on the RPG on iOS. As you’d expect, you’re tasked with embarking on a world-saving journey with your merry band of companions, with a choice of three of six main characters, whose narratives will overlap depending on which hero you choose.
Trials of Mana+ features lovely 3D graphics that have a nostalgic feel to them as it feels like you’ll be able to experience the OG scenes but with updated graphics. Combat is a fast-paced adventure with signature ring menus that fans of the series will find very familiar, with over 300 skill types to tinker with when it comes to your character lineup.
There are Beginner, Easy, Normal and Hard difficulty settings at your disposal to keep your rage at bay, and there’s also the old-school “New Game Plus” – which we mentioned in our latest podcast episode – to unlock more stories for your characters.
All this brings enhanced quality of life improvements to your mobile devices, including auto-aiming, auto-camera, and cloud saving.
