Wales Interactive’s Welsh horror game Maid of Sker is coming to mobile devices, set to launch on September 10. You’ll soon be able to play the terrifying horror game on iOS or Android, with a try-before-you-buy option.
The Maid of Sker game is inspired by aged Victorian literature and Welsh folklore. Its plot revolves around the main character Thomas Evans, who follows the typical pattern of horror games, being drawn into an unfortunate accident at the request of Elisabeth Williams, a resident of the island of Sker.
Think of something like Amnesia: The Dark Descent and you’ll be well on your way, trying to avoid mysterious, monstrous enemies while trying to uncover the secret of what’s really going on on Sker. Utilize stealth, stealth, and the occasional useful gadget to avoid becoming a constant resident of the island.

Maid of Sker is unique because it takes place in: and is inspired by Wales; where the developer is based. It’s also a bit of a departure from other Wales Interactive releases, as it’s not an FMV title, but a fully 3D one. I’m definitely curious to see if a mobile release will facilitate Maid of Sker reach a whole up-to-date audience, and if another game in the style of Amnesia sounds like something you’d like, be sure to check it out when it releases on September 10th.
