There’s a novel action roguelike coming out this week that focuses on limitless creativity in your attacks, focusing on the ability to stack different effects into a single weapon to create a customized power stack. In Magicraft, all wands have open slots that can be filled with spells and spell modifiers that will activate from left to right, in order, each time you click. With this basic configuration that you can customize, you will get – in the words of the creators:

This means that with 100 different wand effects and 100 different spells that can be put into them, on the basis of pure mathematical probability you will be able to create something the creators have never seen before. Maybe even something another player has never created. You can see the potential for yourself in the free demo.

Magicraft consists of five chapters, the first four of which resemble a Hades structure of rooms and bosses, where you fight a mini-boss and a boss, but you choose rewards and rooms that appear before and between these fights. The fifth chapter changes all that, throwing you into a boss fight thanks to your already completed build.

Magicraft developer Wave Games has previously released an indie rhythm game called Musynx, a management game called Soul Academy, and several dating simulators. It is published by Chinese streaming giant Bilibili.

You can find Magiccraft on Steamwhere it usually costs $16, although it’s 20% off through November 15. In fact, it comes bundled with another game often described as “Chinese Hades” –Warm snow.
