Note: This review contains spoilers for both tape 1 and 2 Lost Records tapes.
When I sat down to play Lost Records: Bloom & Rage’s Tape 2, I was surprised how much I expected. Over two months from the release of the first part, Bloom, the punk quartet of girls located by Riot Grrrl sank in my heart. As they could not, when I saw so much myself – who I was, who I wanted to be – in them.
I need to know
What is this? A narrative adventure filled with elections in the nostalgia of girls from the 90s.

Tape 1 ended with a sloppy, but emotional climax that revealed the executioner, a strange girl of the group who creates Zines and feels that the petite town kills her, actually dies. Leukemia. Many in the form of Stand by me it was obvious that it would be the last summer of all, although with supernatural elements and many questions left unanswered, some of me hoped that we could change this past, record a tape or scroll to a certain point that will change. Tape 2, rage, instead leaves mainly dead space.
I want to get a game of words. This is mimetic how the tape 2 arrives after delays that believe in some developmental problems. Errors give them, just like a miniature length. Tape 2 is not the whole second part, but the third act. His flame seems to burn too vivid, too early. Like the executioner, right? There is probably unintentional meaning and it affects me, although I did not want to see everything that could have been if they both did not nod Montreal, and the Kat had more time.
Tape 2 adds very little modern to get involved. As in Bloom, I collect intricately modeled objects around the levels, I study them and find tips on history and puzzles. I also apply Swann camera to record these memories and edit movies. There are gestures to some iterations that could be (in one stage Nora will break down history and time like a tape), but ultimately there is very little play on tape 2.
At least half of four hours had to be spent in cutscenes, which still offered me dialogues, which still shaped my relationship with each girl, but were edited along with more noticeable gaps and errors of continuity. It begins to look like an unintentional tribute from the 90s for Xenogears and his Disintelligently confined disk 2 It was a whole visual novel instead of JRPG.
Although I can not do much, tape 2 draws its narrative and thematic conclusions. He still feels too speedy, but it is almost appropriate, taking into account the decreasing vitality of the CAT. And although I haven’t read many branches yet, which ended to think about how much it can change in response to the player, I see how the ending is shaped around the relationships that I decided to determine the priorities. I don’t think there is a bad ending, but some emphasize that larger topics are interested in playing. And those worth talking about.
It shows gay impact and intimate violence of a partner, so much as part of nostalgia for the 1990s.
Not only the executioner must die. In the finals, every girl is beaten, prosecuted, harassed and torn off her childhood, and the impulse of their adolescence is the death of their innocence to violence in the world. It grows with incompatible tones of nostalgia listened to on tape 1. It shows a shot of gays and violence in an intimate partner, so much as a part of nostalgia for the 90s, which remains unspeakable, but is not invalid.
Lost Records makes the heroes feel as forceful as movement – powered by Grrrl riots and feminism and makeup and each other – and as frail as children – stay together impartially when the Swann family goes away at the end of summer. There is another axis. Not powerless, but sent for apply. Ultimately, with what quartet he rebels with his songs, hair, makeup, clothes, friendship and intimacy are men’s violence.
Nowadays, Nora recalls how we slipped into the kata house, broke her to see the meteor shower. I offer me a cigarette in front of the bar, but I refuse. I lift her lighter, I turn it over. When she was 16, Nora sang about how little a man was who called her a dyke. She probably saw Fire walk with me when he came out a few years earlier, definitely too adolescent to understand, but a woman enough to know what Lynch saw under Americana. Now, 27 years later, she scratched the title, Laura Palmer, for another one -off body.
And that’s why Nostalgia Lost Records on tape 1 was resonant for so many strange and trans – Play this yearWhy these memories differ from the conservative type of strength in today’s game culture. This is all ephemeral. We don’t stick to it. Do not repeat these violence. We are aware that no other has been lost since we were adolescent. Something that cannot be replaced.
And that’s why Tape 2 fire is just as a form of nostalgia as trinkets and movies rent. They say that boys will be boys: log in to DOX STREAMERIN harassRage against the world, which allowed the ashes to fly. They never forgot about the violence of the 90s. They just miss the flame.
