Logitech G Powerplay 2 MySe Pad Review

Published:

The idea that you can have a mouse pad that maintains a charged wireless mouse is one that has maintained my interest since the release of the first Logitech G Powerplay wireless charging station in 2017. Unfortunately, even throughout these years later, with the release of this novel version, it still seems more like a conceptual work than the actual “ready for a shelf in a reasonable price technology.

And this comes from someone who was under the impression of the first and used it for a long time. The problem, however, is that there is a difference between pleasure and thinking that it is worth prices. Prices were the main problem with the first version and unfortunately did not improve on this front, despite the nominal cut by 20 USD.

Before we fall into it, let’s get to what is the Logitech G Powerplay 2 mouse pad – sorry, “wireless charging station” – actually. Like the first version, it is equipped with a charging base, which is attached to the control module and cable, a seating pad on this basis and a small charging circle to replace the one at the bottom of the compatible Logitech mouse.

A mouse that can take a charging disc can then sit on a connected powerplay, which will keep it charge during the game, work or idle-how much mouse is turned on (or slightly Above) mouse pad, loads. This is all thanks to the “low -frequency electromagnetic field”, which captures the charging disc, similar to wireless charging, to which we are all accustomed.

Here are the mice that Logitech mentions as compatible with a new charging station:

  • Logitech G309
  • Logitech G502 X Plus
  • Logitech G502 X LightSpeed
  • Ligitech G502 LightSpeed
  • Logitech G703
  • Logitech G903
  • Logitech G Pro Wireless
  • Logitech G Pro X Superlight
  • Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2
  • Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 Dex

Logitech places this new version as an improvement compared to the first: it is thinner, has a larger charging area and costs $ 20 less for $ 100 MSRP. But this is only one very distorted side of the picture.

Dimensions: 344 x 284 mm (manually verified)
Edging: No seams

Price: $ 100 / 90 £

The other side is that it is thinner because the mouse washer is more flimic, does not contain a hard pad and lacks a wireless receiver. It seems to me that the latter gives me the most. One of the great things in the first Powerplay was that you can connect a mouse pad and get rid of your 2.4 GHz key, because the pad itself acted like a receiver.

Not with the new Powerplay. Now you are expected to connect Powerplay 2 plus The 2.4 GHz receiver, which should have been with your Logitech Mouse.

In addition to the inconvenience associated with the filling of an additional USB port on my computer, the main reason why it is annoying is that the apparent reduction of the new version of the Hollow ring. Of course, The product should be cheaper than its predecessor, when it simply does not cover as close the same as the first.

I remember how I opened the first version and I was pleasantly surprised by having two mousepads, and these are real quality Pads – the G440 Hard Padand something very similar to G240 Cloth Pad. Opening the new version, I was ANDPleasantly surprised by the inclusion of only one thin pad.

And the original was launched for the market for $ 100, just like the new one, but then its price increased to USD 120 later. Ore definitely Not to mention the fact that the original sold sales for much less than $ 100 at the end of 2024.

All this can be understandable if there were solid improvements, but as I explained, there are actually cuts. A larger charging area is everything that we get for a specific update, and I have never noticed a problem with the original charging area for many months.

Thinness, are you talking? Well, since when was it good that the mouse pad was incredibly thin? My time spent with new qck Performance QCK mouse pads reminds me of this because one of the benefits is that they are dear than the original QCK series (of course, very thick QCK Heavy).

If the mouse washer is too thin, you do not get a good cushioning or stopping and it really is less comfortable. I am not saying that the new powerplay is uncomfortable – it is not – but the original was fine as it was. In my opinion, this has not been improved to be thinner.

However, in the case of the loan due, the surface of the new pad is slightly loose and smoother than the original. This is decent, but nothing that could not be obtained from many other cheaper pads, which lack these powerplay charging. If you get one of them, you don’t really get it, but we assure you that the feeling is pleasant.

And he certainly does his intended work: he charges the mouse without having to remove it from the mouse pad. It maintains my mouse at 99% in the last few days of use, so I can say that I do his work as intended. It even loads even after a slight lifting – but only slightly – mouse washer.

On the other hand, it’s small. The new version has retained the same dimensions as the original at 344 x 284 mm. This is fine for some people, but it is smaller than the usual large or XL mice. For example, if you are a player against sensitivity, you almost certainly want a larger pad.

I should also mention that these are actual Measurements, which I have repeatedly confirmed using the actual measure of tape. The reason I say is that the specifications listed on the Logitech website say that it is 344 x 340 mm, which according to my measurements are incorrect, even if you place the control module in the upper left corner (and why would you do it?). Measurements with the control module are about 344 x 322 mm. Go drawing.

That’s all that is in the first place, and even taking the new Powerplay 2 for your own advantages, it is a fairly poor proposition of values.

Although this is of course very subjective, I think that 100 USD is far too expensive to charge the mouse all the time, especially considering that the life of the mouse battery seems to be better every year. “

Buy if …

You hate Manual mouse loading: If you I can’t stand Connecting the mouse, and then for sure, go to it.

Don’t buy if …

❌ You connect with the mouse right: The lack of the need to connect the mouse is the only real benefit for this pad, and if you do it well, you might as well save money.

However, there is no competition in the mousepad charging space – this would require mice for games in universal wireless charging – so Logitech can charge what he wants. But similarly, we can decide whether this price is reasonable or not, especially compared to its predecessor.

Maybe I would pay 60 USD for the convenience of Powerplay. Although even it will be ready to debate, the recipient has been removed.

I don’t feel alone in this judgment either. I checked the PC Gamer hardware team and none of us ensures that our gaming mice burden trouble -free. Certainly, it is not enough to spend 100 USD on convenience. I am sure that some people will care so much – and for them more power, literally, I do not judge – but I just don’t see it.

To be straightforward, I regret that I can’t get the lower one than just the fact that Logitech removed the better original from the market, replaced it with it and put it as the final version. But I have to consider Powerplay 2 on my own advantages, and this front is a bit better than the result in the 1930s.

I am really excited about placing a novel one to get a real mouse pad on my desk on my shelf and if it doesn’t say that, I don’t know what he is doing.

If you never have to connect mice to charge, it is so crucial to you, and you have a compatible Logitech mouse, then go. The novel Powerplay Logitech is the only game in the city, it is simply not very attractive.
