You know how Goro Majima has an eyepatch, and pirates are stereotypically known to have eyepatches, too? What if Majima was a pirate? In Hawaii? That’s the basic premise of Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, the obvious spin-off coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on February 28, 2025.
Half a year after joining forces with Kiryu in the Battle of Millennium Tower, Goro Majima finds himself stranded on a remote island without any memories, not even his name. He sets out on a modern adventure with teenage islander Noah to regain those memories and get back on track in this topsy-turvy world.
This will bring them into conflict with criminals, modern-day pirates (who dress like senior pirates – and other miscreants, all hunting for the legendary treasure. Luckily, you’ll have your own pirate crew to back you up, with real-time cannon battles with other ships on the open seas before moving into hand-to-hand combat once you board their ships. Here, you can switch between Majima’s Mad Dog fighting style and the pirate Sea Dog, the latter allowing him to wield a broadsword and other buccaneer gear.
First, you will sail to Rich Island, and the adventure will take Majima to Madlantis, a secret island where criminal organizations coexist and where the Pirate Coliseum is located. There is also Nele Island, where the sacred site of Palenka is located, and you will also have the opportunity to revisit Hawaii and Honolulu City, which was a key location for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
