Lego Mario Kart is leaving the gate with six up-to-date sets

Lego has once again expanded its reach into the Mario universe with six up-to-date sets inspired by the Mario Kart series. The sets vary in size, but each features at least one racing driver driving his trademark go-kart equipped with a launcher that can be loaded with a red or green shell and fired at unsuspecting drivers.

The accessories and items included with each set are a living representation of what you’ll find in the game. The Baby Peach and Grand Prix setfor example, it includes three competitors at the starting gate, along with a floating Lakitu and item boxes. You can also practice aiming with Baby Mario vs Baby Luigi set by popping green and red balloons.

Currently, the selection of available characters and karts is somewhat narrow, but we can expect this to change in the near future. However, if you want to start collecting this up-to-date set, we’ve listed the current lineup below and where you can find them.

While Lego Mario Kart sets won’t let you race around your living room like Mario Kart Live: Home CircuitEach set contains a range of interactive elements that can be activated by combining them with Lego bricks Mario, LuigiOr Peachwhich can be found in their respective starter kits for approximately $49.99 each. Placing the characters on various objects will trigger the iconic sounds from the Mario Kart series, and placing them behind the wheel will bring the kart to life with the sounds of the engine and burning rubber as you take keen turns.
