Lego Island Star Pepper Roni returns to Fortnite, delighting fans


Fortnite became an unlikely source of excitement for Lego Island fans after Pepper Roni himself appeared in the game.

Lego Tycoon: Tilted Towers, now available in Fortnite, features a number of challenges with classic Lego themes, but the Pepper Roni expansion caught the eye.

Pepper Roni, who runs the pizzeria in Lego Tycoon: Tilted Towers, comes from the beloved Lego Island trilogy. He is a newborn delivery man who delivers pizza to the inhabitants of Lego Island while working to defeat the Brickmaker.

Mindscape’s Lego Island was released on PC in 1997 and was well received by critics. Lego Island 2: The Brickster’s Revenge was released in 2001, and the last game, Island Xtreme Stunts, was released in 2002.

Now, 22 years later, Pepper Roni is back as the star of the latest Fortnite game Lego Island, and fans couldn’t be happier. Here is a fragment of the reaction:

While it’s a nostalgia-fueled fan service run by Lego Group and Fortnite creator Epic Games, there’s been no suggestion of a revival of the Lego Island series. Currently, Lego is making waves in Fortnite with its popular Battle Royale game, Lego Fortnite, as well as unexpected spin-offs like Lego Horizon Adventures.
