Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is an Arkham game you were waiting for Gamescom 2025

Traveller’s Tales once again brings a burden of brick battles with bats on the streets of Gotham City. For 20 years, the studio has largely followed the beloved and established formula for adapting some of the largest media franchises in the world and transforming them into the level of action based on the level of adventure. But this time TT seems to find inspiration outside their own walls, but elsewhere in the Warner Bros. family, giving people what they want: the fresh Batman Arkham game in the whole name.

The Heritage of the Dark Knight is slightly different from previous LEGO games. Not entirely original story, TT Games immersed in the world of a bat, taking the various strands of the hero’s most renowned stories from various comics and films to create a narrative on his own. You will receive a juvenile story of Bruce Wayne Origin, which seems to derive inspiration from Batman if the trailer has something to do, but later he will meet with a joker born in a vat of corrosive materials, before he later transforms into the version of the winning Oscar Heath Ledger for chapter or two.

I have to play in a full mission from the beginning of the story that took me to Ace Chemicals, a version that is heavily designed in the Batman Tim Burton factory from 1989. However, the story taking place in these neo-gothic walls takes a leaf straight from the pages of one-time Ed Brubaker comic, The Man Who Whats, when Batman is sent to examine the red hood. The context is set by the well -known Slapstick Lego Sillistness, because the bat is asked to track three separate teddy bears to find what Nefarious Hood has for them.

This opening takes place outside the walls of the plant and allowed me to experiment with an immediate recognizable combat apartment. I hit the grunt several times until their plastic legs freed themselves from their torso and counteracting each time this tiny signal of the attack on the top of the head dared to flash. Batman fans: Arkham Games will know exactly what I am talking about (and also anyone who played in many, many Rocksseads action games inspired), but from what I experienced, I do not see that they become much more mechanically convoluted.

You can’t think about being Batman in a video game, underestimating the achievements of our friends and colleagues at Rockstsyada.

This obvious inspiration Arkham and the desire to bring him to an even wider audience is something that Jonathan Smith, the head of production and strategic director at TT Games, deliberately admitted me: “You can’t think about being Batman in a video game, underestimating the achievements of our friends and colleagues in Rockstsyada,” said Smith. “So when we start thinking about Batman’s rich, deep combat experience, of course, we use it as inspiration, but then we also have new approaches that we bring to this in terms of availability.”

Punch, kicks and throws can be rooted in Moveset for the first time founded in Batman: Arkham Asylum from 2009, but it is a TT LEGO game attractive to players of all ages, so I do not see complicated combinations of buttons that become a key aspect. Replacing the tardy motors add a sense of style to the behavior, which further increasing this known Arkham flow. In summary, brawling was good, if not as completely satisfying as in asylum and its continuations, perhaps due to the fact that making contact with the synthetic gloss of LEGO blocks never fully provides the flesh feeling that the meat can pound meat (yes, I meant it to blow it).

Of course, while Capeed Crusader likes to break the cheek troughs with his blunt fists and padded his knees, Stealth was also a huge part of his games. Again, although it does not seem so solid in its project as playing in Arkham, Legacy of the Dark Knight satisfies the insidious option. High structures and stock exchanges emerge on enemies that can be easily fastened. From there, you can apply the version of the detective mode, which works more like an impulse of effect than a switching X -ray vision to choose enemies below. Stealth killers can then be performed on the selected official and are animated with humor lego with a trademark; Instead of a quick knockout, Batman will land on them with a taking a paddle of his ass.

While the fight is heavily marked in Arkham, the rest of the mission takes place like a classic TT adventure. Platforming is integrated by movable platforms and hooks, like puzzles that require switching between characters (or obtaining aid from a cooperative partner) to apply their specific skills. In this mission I was joined by Jim Gordon, who is full of a foam pistol, which can fire a goo dot to aid you next to obstacles. For example, Ace Chemicals is not surprisingly full of unsafe chemicals, some of which can be seen from broken pipes and stopping you on your path. The brisk gust of the commissioner’s cannon may soon get rid of this mess, because when he hardened, he blocks the hole in the pipe. In the past, the doors can be closed, but thanks to the obvious point of the struggle you can pull it out with the Batman hook. This is the exchange between Batfriends and their skills, which were the basis of LEGO games since the first adaptation of Star Wars in 2005 and still has a certain level of charm.

However, there is no question of how this time the missions and the scope of puzzles we will face will be different. Passing through Ace Chemicals, I did not get the same “in the style of metroidvania”, which I often associate with Lego-Games that there will be many secret areas inaccessible in the first game, because they require abilities that you have not yet unlocked. This may be due to the fact that Only seven characters can be played in Legacy of the Dark KnightThus, the variety of power and gadgets is significantly reduced-especially compared to the list of Saga Skywalker about 400. This factor of the ability to play treasure searches is a huge draw for some, so I’m afraid it is so, but maybe this part of the experience is reserved mainly for his open world.

I have to spend only about 10 minutes in a tiny section in the open air in Gotham City, but I didn’t find any things you can get to. This Arkham muscle memory began when I struggled with a nearby roof and fired in the air before I spread my bats and assessed the alleys related to crime. In my miniature time I prevented a crime in progress, hitting a few badgers, finished puzzle from the Riddler trophy and tried the time trial in the Batmobile of my choice-the attempt of the Dark Knight, muscular car from 2022. Character costumes can be adapted, from the interpretation of golden age comics to the contemporary appearance of films. How they are unlocked is still unclear, but I would not be surprised if I spend time collecting treasures scattered around the open world.

The initial impression that Legacy of the Dark Knight is a game Arkham in the LEGO packaging is therefore quite noticeable. I decided on the middle land between the active struggle and the collector of the mystery of the series, so effectively rooted for years. I have been very hopeful for about an hour, when I spent it so far and I think it could be the perfect thing to answer Arkham fans until Rockstsyady (or someone else willing to take a coat) responds to the call of Batsignal.
