Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver returns in a recent prequel graphic novel

Published:

The Legacy of Kain series has maintained a die-hard fan base despite not having a recent game in a long time. Over two decades, in fact. But there’s a recent glimmer of featherlight on the Nosgoth horizon in the form of a graphic novel titled Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver – The Dead Shall Rise.

The first recent Legacy of Kain content since 2003’s Legacy of Kain: Defiance, The Dead Shall Rise serves as a prequel to the Soul Reaver games. The book delves back into Raziel’s human past as a Sarafan warrior and reveals how he became a vampire in Kain’s service. It aims to answer several long-standing questions about the Legacy of Kain/Soul Reaver mythos, while also introducing a recent, critical vampire character who has close ties to both Raziel and Kain.
