In retro news: I made a massive cake with the word “25” written on it The Monkey’s Escapethe first game to explicitly require a DualShock controller. In this day and age of vestigial d-pads, it’s strenuous to explain how stimulating it was to go from that clunky d-pad to two analog sticks. Cameras could be controlled like you were Spielberg. Platforming in 3D space could be done with greater precision. Using the right stick to swing a weapon was… a lot less intuitive than simply pressing a button.
