- Last Spartan: Glory over Madness is a movie worth watching
- Combining Greek mythology with Lovecraft in a up-to-date roguelike deck builder
- While we already have a confirmed release for PC and consoles, we don’t have any specific information about the release on mobile devices yet.
If there’s an simple way to create an pioneering up-to-date game plot, it’s by having two things collide. Like plants vs. zombies, or in this case, Spartans vs. the horrible, babbling creatures of the afterlife. Yes, in Last Spartan: Glory over Madness, everyone loves muscle-bound hoplites against cosmic horrors of the afterlife, as Ancient Greece collides with Lovecraft.
A up-to-date installment in the ever-evolving deck-building roguelike genre, Last Spartan is set in a corrupted version of archaic Greece, where familiar mythological elements have been twisted by the arrival of Lovecraftian creatures from the afterlife. You’ll take on the role of the titular Last Spartan, forming alliances with the remnants of the Greek pantheon as you fight not only for survival, but also for sanity.
We got to try out Last Spartan for ourselves at Pocket Gamer Connects London in January, so we know the game will be coming to mobile devices. Unfortunately, we don’t have full release date or platforms at this point. Last Spartan will be coming to PC in slow 2024, and consoles in early 2025.
Mobile madness
It’s a shame we don’t have more to say about Last Spartan , but as far as we’re concerned, it’s definitely worth a watch. With its bleak and mind-bending environments, alongside the (ironically) familiar sight of babbling, tentacled apparitions from the stars, Last Spartan offers an intriguing mishmash of two conflicting concepts of gods and monsters.
