Developer Digital Extremes revealed what changes are coming Warframes comrades within Koumei and the five fates update that will be released on October 2. It’s worth noting that massive changes are coming to Smeeta Kavat and his Charm mod, making Smeeta one of the most popular companions in the game.
The Koumei and the five fates update for Warframes underwent a thorough modernization for companions in general, not just for Smeeta. You can test yourself Digital Extremes blog post to see the full list of changes, but the main goal of the changes is to escalate the usefulness of companions in combat.
Koumei & the Five Fates changes the Charm of Smeeta Kavat mod
Before Koumei and the five fatesThe Charm for Smeet Kavat mod had a 28% chance of giving the player a random buff every 27 seconds. Of the six possible buffs, the most popular buff by far was “Double Gather and Affinity” because not only did it double the XP you received, but you could also double the resources you gained.
IN Koumei and the five fatesthe lift buff will be removed from the Charm mod and promoted to a separate, dedicated mod called Loyal Retriever that can be used on beast companions, not just Smeet Kavat. Loyal Retriever will give you a passive 13% chance to double any resource or collect credits, but it will have no effect on affinity or sporadic resources.
According to Digital Extremes, this 13% number is the statistical average of the amount of time that the lift buff on Charm would be lively. However, in the case of Loyal Retriever, its buff will always be lively, so you won’t have to get lucky to be selected from the buff list.
The Charm mod will in the future have a 40% chance (up from 28%) to give players a buff every 27 seconds, and the novel buff list is as follows:
- 25% chance for Reinforced Shield
- 25% chance to instantly reload (rolls repeated if your current weapon does not require reloading)
- 20% chance to utilize free skills
- 10% chance for Critical Hit Chance bonus
- 10% chance for bonus affinity. (Affinity bonus increased to 3x)
- 10% chance of getting a sporadic resource
If you’re looking to maximize your loot or gain extra XP, you’ll still want to run Charm on your Smeet, thanks to sporadic resources and additional affinity buffs, but if you’re just concerned about credits and more common resources, Loyal Retriever on any animal companion will work fine. However, remember that these Charm buffs only happen with a 10% chance every 27 seconds.
How to get the Loyal Retriever mod in Warframe
If you own Smeeta Kavat when Koumei and the five fates When the update is released, you will receive a copy of the Loyal Retriever mod for free. Otherwise, Digital Extremes notes that you can replace it with one with Conservation tags from supplier Earth’s Conservation.
As a reminder, while you’ll receive a copy of the mod for free if you already own Smeeta, the Loyal Retriever mod can be used on all companion beasts, not just Smeeta.
