Kiera Mills is leaving RPS. Come celebrate your time here and say goodbye

If you don’t secretly spend most afternoons planning a possible career change to one where you’re surrounded by animals, then I’m sorry, but you’re just not welcome in the RPS treehouse. Today, Kiera takes a decisive step forward in this plan: she leaves RPS to start a recent life adventure where all the animal sliders are set to the maximum. Join us and say goodbye below.

Kiera joined the treehouse guide squad just over a year ago and, along with fellow recent employee Jeremy, was quickly baptized into the notorious river of sizzling magma known as “this year’s Call Of Duty”. Over 50 weapon guides later, she hosted our Avatar: Frontiers Of Pandora guide herself, featuring a series of clear and carefully written guides that made it seem like she’d been there for years, not weeks. I’m planning to play Avatar soon and I’ll definitely apply her guides.

Then the recent year rolled around and thank goodness Kiera was around so she could support us deal with the googly-eyed mammoth that was Palworld. Kiera spent a spine-chilling number of hours delving into this gigantic game, then resurfaced only to send me a recent link to another comprehensive guide to the best Ice Pals, the best Electric Pals, and even extensive lists of where to find all 137 Pal types. I bet it wasn’t straightforward or particularly enjoyable, but the quality of her work never wavered. And then it went through the same thing with Dragon’s Dogma 2, producing excellent guides like this one on the game’s romance and affinity systems.

The same has been true of the countless updates and refreshes to older guides that Kiera has been working on over the last 12 months. Everything from our Starfield guides to our huge array of Elden Ring guides has been improved over the last year, thanks largely to Kiera’s tireless work to keep everything as up-to-date and straightforward to understand as possible. Combining recent releases, ancient update projects, and constantly coming up with prompts for our Wordle and Connections guides isn’t straightforward, but she’s always managed to do it, and she’s done a great job every time.

Despite her workload, she also found time for some lovely custom projects involving building a witch’s cottage in Tiny Glade and trying to recreate Stray at Lethal Company. It’s a shame that 2024 has thrown so many giant bombs at us like Shadow Of The Erdtree, Star Wars Outlaws, Dragon Age: Veilguard because I really wish Kiera had more time to write more of these weird and wonderful posts through all year round. That said, even in the middle of an insanely busy and tumultuous year, Kiera still found time to write great guides to smaller games like Palia and Lightyear Frontier, games that we often don’t get to write about but deserve love and attention nonetheless.

Join me in saying goodbye to Kiera in the comments below. We usually say that once you leave the treehouse, you’re dead to us, but in this case we’ll welcome her back often in exchange for some good doggo photos and more photos of beautifully painted miniatures with huge frog butts.
