Deep discounts continue only on games that matter. Where was I yesterday? I’m even more impressed Astrobotgame that already seemed like a solid pre-order candidate when I started testing it out. I’ll let you read through my fuller impressions here, but in low: it’s no slouch when it comes to challenge (if you head to the “hard” planets in the galaxy). As a earnest 3D platformer fan who started out with To crash AND Super Mario 64I’m as surprised by this as you are.

In retro news: I’m celebrating my 11th birthday Tales of the Ducks Remastereda benchmark in how to make an 8-bit glow-up. Ironically, developer WayForward was the opposite of Scrooge with this one, sparing no expense on hand-drawn HD graphics, extra levels, unlockable content, and most of the original voice cast from the iconic ’80s cartoon. Better yet, they’ve retained much of the insane difficulty — the very thing that made that game absolutely badass in the first place.

The main story in Persona Strikers feels like a direct sequel to Persona 5, making this summer outing with the Phantom Thieves necessary for fans of the original (and probably quite confusing for those who haven’t played it). 8/10, great.

All-Star Brawl 2 finally lives up to its name by becoming an all-star platformer. Not only is it a fantastic sequel that takes the criticisms of the first game to heart and sends it into the blast zone, but it also goes far beyond those modifications. 9/10

I got to play through it yesterday. I love it. I was especially surprised by how challenging the “Hard” levels are. Since it’s not a downloadable demo, Team Asobi clearly no longer intends to let the lowest common denominator players 100% their platformers.
