In Kakureza Library, you take on the role of a trainee librarian working in a cozy, fictional library. Your main tasks are plain—checking out books and helping users find exactly what they’re looking for. But it’s so much more than that.
As you progress and the story deepens, you will realize that your decisions, such as which book to recommend or how you interact with your guests, can change the course of their lives. Every book has the potential to change lives, and it is up to you to make those decisions wisely. The fate of the borrower now rests in your hands.
The game features over 260 books, each with detailed information, including photos and bibliographies. These books play a central role in the branching story paths, allowing for many possible endings, some of which may even be bad. Can you survive the month-long trial period?
Outside of the main story, Kakureza Library also features a mode called Endless Reference, which, while more relaxing, remains just as intellectually stimulating. In this mode, you must lend a hand a steady stream of randomly generated users, each with different questions, and direct them to relevant resources. Previously available only in Japanese, it’s now also available in English.
