Julian Lefay, a former main engineer in Bethesda and co -founder of Oncelost Games, withdraws from the development of the game because of his ongoing fight against cancer, the company announced yesterday.
IN Video from Oncelost gamesManufacturer Victor Villareal announced messages. “Our technical producer Julian Lefay, who I certainly don’t need admission, has been fighting cancer for several years,” said Villareal. “He fought bravely and hard, but it looks like he doesn’t have much time. He left the project to spend the remaining time with his family and loved ones.”
Lefay is often referred to as the series “Father Elder Scrolls” when he joined Bethesda Softworks after founding in 1987 and led the company as a chief engineer through games such as Scrolls: Arena, The Elder Scrolls II: Dimgerfall and Battles. Julianos, the god of wisdom and logic, and one of the nine divine in older turns, is called Lefay.
Over the years, conducting various projects, Lefay co -founder of the Oncelost studio in 2019 with former colleagues from Bethesda Ted Peterson and Vijay Lakshman to work on the spiritual successor of the dagger called The Wayward Realms.
Peterson wrote a statement issued in the description of the film ads from Onlost Games, following his story from Lefay.
“I could tell stories about our friendship and how we recently worked with our team on Wayward Realms as creative and technical directors, but I have to come to such an extent,” wrote Peterson. “Julian boldly fought cancer. His doctors informed us that his time with us is limited and we are preparing to say goodbye to the real legend of the industry.”
Peterson invited fans to share thoughts, prayers, kind, memories or simply influence on the life and work of Lefay on them.
“For me it is deeply personal and I regret every second in which I did not spend with one of the most cute, intelligent, funny and interesting people I’ve ever met,” wrote Peterson. “It’s also cautious for me: don’t disappoint his heritage.
“To say, the last quote from the outstandingly cited Julian Lefay,” he continued. “He said it during our last team meeting and I believe that it represents him and his beliefs well.” This is personal. And if it is not personal, you just work for rent and you will never have the motivation to achieve a significant goal. “
