Damn cinematic continuity, Jason Momoa he puts gills aside for fish because of tattoos and violence. According to reports from Deadlinethe man known around the world as Aquaman has officially announced his return to the DC Universe as the indestructible Lobo in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
Those who are unaware of the terrifying force that is Lobo simply know that he is an intergalactic bounty hunter who causes genocide for fun and once bragged about it killing Santa Claus. Lobo had already had enough brutal encounters in the comics with Supergirl’s cousin Superman, so sooner or later the two were bound to collide. In an Instagram post, Momoa shared his quote 2023 Fandango interview in which he revealed that the long-haired, muscular menace was his favorite comic book character growing up, calling her his “perfect role.” He confirmed his participation in the film with a basic, two-word signature: “They called.”
Details Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow The film is still a secret beyond its June 26, 2026 release date and Dragon HouseMilly Alcock was cast in the main role. This would make it the second film in James Gunn’s recent DC universe, which Gunn has been highly anticipated Superman first. This one is scheduled to arrive on July 11, 2025.
It would be pretty fun if Gunn’s recent DC cinematic universe also included the Justice League. If so, would Momoa pull double duty and turn back into fish scales? Or we’re done with Avengers-superhero mashups? Only Gunn knows the answer. Fortunately, one thing we know now is that arguably the most critical actor in DC movies over the last decade will return as a villain, just like Robert Downey Jr. will make his film debut as Doctor Doom Avengers: Judgment Daywhich is scheduled to be released a month earlier Supergirl.
