Donkey AND Wild boys star Steve-O isn’t a huge video gamer, but he has appeared in a few games over the years. And according to the stuntman and podcaster, he was paid a pretty penny for his appearance in NFL-2K5Meanwhile, his role in Tony Hawk the game published by Activision was not that profitable.
Steve-O rose to fame in 2000 after appearing on the hugely popular MTV television series Donkey. He later appeared in a spin-off of the nature documentary series Wild boys alongside Chris Pontius, as well as in numerous Donkey movies, too. He now has a popular podcast and YouTube channel and has been sober for over a decade. But back to the top Donkey-mania — Mid-2000s — Steve-O was offered several video game jobs.
In a up-to-date video interview with Gaming placeSteve-O admitted that games that required a lot of thought were a waste of time. However, he has now changed his mind, realizing that everyone has their own way of having fun. In the interview, he also revealed that he doesn’t play many games (although he likes Angry Birds) despite appearing in three different video games.
First appeared in NFL-2K5 In 2005, a beloved PS2-era football game came out that was so good (and economical) that this scared EA to exclusively secure NFL licenses for its Go crazy franchise to avoid competition. According to Steve-O, he was paid “exactly $100,000” to appear as one of five celebrity coaches to be challenged in a digital soccer game. Other stars? Jamie Kennedy, David Arquette, Funkmaster Flex and Carmen Electra.
Steve-O then appeared in Tony Hawk’s Underground 2. While he was basically just a voice and a picture, NFL-2K5IN VILLAIN 2 was a secret skater that could be found and unlocked, with his own in-game character model, exclusive tricks, and even a unique mechanical bull that he used instead of a skateboard. Funnily enough, although he was a bigger part of VILLAIN 2Steve-O claims Activision only paid him $5,000 for his appearance in the game.
Finally in 2007 Steve-O appeared as one of the main characters Jackass: The GameAccording to the stuntman, he didn’t play the game until Gaming place I set up a PS2 and let him try it out during the interview. As for how much he was paid to appear in Jackass: The GameSteve-O doesn’t mention it, but it suggests it was much less than that NFL 2K5.
“The donkey was Really good thing they didn’t pay us that much,” Steve-O explained.
