Oh, and it looks like there will be even more modern faces in The Witcher season 4, as the actor behind Vesemir has also reportedly been replaced.
We have known for a long time (actually for two years) that when the 4th season of The Witcher appears, probably next year, it will not be Henry Cavill who will play the one and only Geralt of Rivia, but Liam Hemsworth. It was a choice that didn’t exactly sit well with fans, as many of them actually liked Cavill’s performance as the titular Witcher, but hey, what can you do? The cast appears to have remained virtually unchanged since then, with several modern talents joining as modern characters in the upcoming season, but according to Redanian intelligencethere is another character who has been transformed: Geralt’s mentor, Vesemir.

The portal reports that Vesemir will return as a character in season 4, but the actor who portrayed him so far, Kim Bodnia, will not return to play him. It’s unclear why this rework happened, and of course it hasn’t been officially announced yet – Redanian Intelligence doesn’t know who will be taking over the role either, so I guess we’ll all have to wait for confirmation from Netflix/a trailer that reveals who it might be.
While The Witcher 4’s cast status and release date may be uncertain, it won’t be too long before you see Geralt again. Last month, a modern clip for the animated film The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep was released, along with confirmation of the delay, but also a specific release date, February 11, 2025. It’s good that it’s also soon, because who knows when it might appear The Witcher 4 is coming out (hint: it’s probably been a while).
