Is Xilonen good in Genshin Impact?

Published:

Genshin Strike I’ve never seen a character like Xilonen before. He is a Geo character, but can enhance many elements AND heal your teammates. With such mighty support abilities, will Xilonen impact the meta or can you afford to skip it?

Is it worth getting Xilonen into Genshin Impact?

Xilonen is becoming an extremely mighty support for the Pyro, Hydro, Electro and Cryo teams. The flexibility and ease of utilize of Xilonen in Genshin Strike the bands definitely make her worth your pull. Even in Constellation 0 with a 4-star weapon (Sword of Favonius or Flute of Ezpitzal) can enable your team to hit higher numbers while keeping them alive.

Xilonen’s role in teams is similar to that of Kazuha, an Anemo unit that provides similar elemental buffs and debuffs. Xilonen cannot replace Kazuha’s crowd control and sustained elemental application, but can provide healing instead. If you are looking for a buffer for your elemental teams, Xilonen is a good option and alternative to Kazuha.

Meta reasons aside, Xilonen is just plain fun to explore. He skates faster than Kachina’s Turbo Twirly and saves stamina when climbing cliffs. It also generates some Phlogiston when other characters activate their Night Soul Channel travel abilities. There’s also something really frigid – a DJ cat on roller skates who can transform into a shiny ocelot. The theme of her trailer is also an absolute hit, if you haven’t checked it out yet.

Are Xilonen Constellations worth it?

Xilonen is already mighty in C0, but her Constellations further improve her skills to varying degrees. You don’t need Constellations for Xilonen that deal well with most enemies. I recommend only picking up Constellations if you’re not saving for future characters and/or have disposable income for additional wishes.

It is not worth reaching for the first Xilonen Constellation on your own. Improves her exploration skills, allowing her to skate longer. Constellation 1 can mostly be considered a stepping stone on the way to Constellation 2.

If you decide to utilize Constellations, Constellation 2 is my recommended stop for Xilonen. Constellation 2 upgrades Xilonen’s buffs based on the elements present in her team. It also allows her to support Geo DPS teams. If you want to play Xilonen specifically with Itto, Noelle, Albedo or Chiori, Constellation 2 is a must.

Constellations 3 to 5 raise Xilonen’s capabilities, but to a lesser extent. Constellation 6 allows Xilonen to become a DPS on the field. These higher constellations exist for whales who want to hyper-invest in their Xilonens.

Is Xilonen’s signature weapon worth it?

Xilonen’s signature five-star sword is the Song of the Peak Patrol. It has an additional DEF% stat with a passive ability that buffs your team’s elemental damage based on the DEF of the character equipping it. In brief, it improves Xilonen’s buffing abilities, making it Xilonen’s best weapon overall. The Peak Patrol Song is worth it if you want a weapon that works well with Xilonen’s kit.

Xilonen has perfectly usable 4-star options. The Sword of Favonius takes care of her energy boost needs while providing more energy to the entire team. Ezpitzal’s Flute can be crafted using billets and improves Xilonen’s healing. However, there are no four-star weapons that directly upgrade Xilonen’s unique set. If you really want a gun I feel as if it belonged to Xilonen, you will need the Peak Patrol Song.

Don’t worry too much about how your weapon will look on Xilonen. You won’t see her weapon during normal team rotation. Instead, Xilonen prefers to kick enemies with his roller skates.

Should you go for C2 Xilonen or her signature weapon?

You may have additional requests for either Constellation 2 or Peak Patrol Song, but not both. Which one is better for your Xilonen?

For most teams Xilonen’s Constellation 2 is better than R1’s Peak Patrol song. However, due to recent changes in Genshin Impact the flagship weapon, Constellation 2, can be about twice as pricey as a 5-star weapon. If you’d rather save some strings for future Natlan characters like Chasca or Mavuika, Peak Patrol Song is a cheaper option. You can always get C2 Xilonen when it returns.

If you plan on playing Xilonen primarily with Electro DPS, keep in mind that her C2 bonus for Electro is finicky. The energy of 25 is certainly nice – and it affects the entire team, not just the Electro characters. However, you won’t be able to take advantage of the extra energy or the 6s cooldown reduction on Blast unless you build your team specifically for it.
