Is the Pokémon Go “Grow Together” Timed Trials Worth Taking Part in?

Published:

New paid study, “Grow together“, found its place in Pokémon Go buy for $4.99. This research was launched with the Better Together event, though it will be available long after the event ends.

You have until August 1 to purchase a ticket, and the test itself will be available until September 3 from the date of purchase.

Below we explain whether it is worth buying Pokémon GoGrow Together research pass and time-based study steps.

Is the Timed Research ‘Grow Together’ Premium Pass worth purchasing?

At the time of writing, we only know the first stage of the research and the rewards that Niantic lists in the store. We do know that you will receive the following information:

  • 2 Happy Eggs
  • 9 uncommon candies
  • 2 star elements
  • 2 Incense
  • 70,000 XP and 35,000 Stardust
  • Encounter with Galarians Farfetch’d, Feebas, Swirlix and Tandemaus
  • 5x XP on your first PokéStop spin of the day

The total coin value of the items listed above (that you can buy) is 440 coins. (For comparison, $4.99 will get you 550 coins.) The value of this raw coin alone is technically not worth it, but the bonus XP, uncommon candy, and guaranteed Tandemaus encounter might make up for it for some of you.

The first step is already intimidating for some, as it requires walking 20 km. While you will have plenty of time to walk 20 km, as it is unclear at this point what the next steps will be, some fear that they will also require long distances to walk.

If you think you will not be able to walk 20 km and will be able to complete the additional steps before the end of the testing on September 3, you should not purchase a pass.
