Shorekeeper is the first 5-star Limited Support Resonator introduced to Wuthering Tides, and provides a multitude of powerful buffs as support. However, while supporting characters are always valuable assets on any account, is Shorekeeper really worth spending your hard-earned money?
Should you pull Shorekeeper out of Wuthering Waves?
As always, there are some nuances to consider when asking this question. If you’re looking for a quick and muddy answer: Shorekeeper is an optional stroke because currently the hardest content in the game doesn’t require completion. Is Shorekeeper extremely powerful? Absolutely. Is it necessary for the account? No, it’s not. Consider the following.
Before the release of Shorekeeper, Verina was the only 5-star support/healer in the game, which made her extremely valuable. Players typically included Verina in any team composition because her damage buffs significantly increased the performance of her teammates with minimal investment. Shorekeeper presents a similar vigorous. You don’t have to invest a lot in it to get a forceful alternative to Verina.
However, Shorekeeper values energy recovery much more due to the key stat-reducing elements of her kit, so you really want to invest as much into Shorekeeper as possible to ensure she’s fully effective. This may be considered a disadvantage to some, but a fully invested Shorekeeper is slightly stronger than Verina in a supporting role thanks to her extremely consistent healing and stronger damage buffs.
Shorekeeper is not a direct successor to Verina, however, as the game’s most complex content requires at least three teams. Ideally, having both Shorekeeper and Verina is much better than relying on just one due to team demands. Additionally, Verina’s buffs activate faster compared to Shorekeeper, making her better suited to certain team compositions. Her quick speed boost and out-of-field damage remain valuable, especially for Jinhsi teams that still prefer Verina for these reasons.
However, the decision to choose Shorekeeper ultimately depends on your current support options, especially if you already own Verina. While having a second, more effective version of Verina can and will be beneficial, it is crucial to evaluate your account balance. Consider the following questions:
- Are you struggling with complex content in Windy waves using only Verina?
- Do you have Verina on your account at all?
If you’re challenged with complex content, using Shorekeeper is a intelligent choice. Similarly, if you don’t own Verina at all, Shorekeeper becomes a much more valuable asset. However, if you’re doing well and already own Verina, the need for Shorekeeper may not be as pressing, despite what some may claim. Remember that Shorekeeper is an iconic character and is quite steep. Unless you really need it, I recommend holding off on spending your precious Asterites if you can.
