“We’re excited to launch iOS 18. It’s a massive release with incredible features, including new levels of personalization and capabilities, a redesigned Photos app, and powerful ways to stay connected with Messages. There are so many benefits for everyone,” Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of software engineering, said in June.

“This release also marks the beginning of an incredibly exciting new era of personal intelligence, where Apple Intelligence delivers intuitive, powerful, and instantly useful experiences that will transform the iPhone experience, all with privacy at the center. We can’t wait for users to experience it.”

One thing iOS 18 won’t include just yet are the much-hyped Apple Intelligence features that will bring AI to your iPhone. Despite being mentioned during Apple’s iPhone 16 event, Apple Intelligence won’t be available until OS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, and macOS Sequoia 15.1, which are coming later this fall, and will only be available in the US at first.
