The Silent Hill 2 the remake may have dominated much of October’s survival horror discourse, but Country of Crows remains an indie gem that you should check out if you haven’t had the chance. Lots of people have already sold it and the number of copies sold has exceeded 100,000.
This not-so-macabre milestone comes just a week later Crow County debuted on Nintendo Switch and roughly six months after its launch on Steam. There are even more cash medikits available for the folks at SFB Games. In fact, the game reached 100,000. ahead of its release this week on PlayStation 4.
According to the press release, more than two-thirds of the units sold so far have gone to Steam. The rest was divided between the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch versions.
The numbers clearly blew Tom Vian from SFB Games to his knees. “100 thousand copies in less than 6 months is much more than our wildest expectations Country of Crows– he said. Before thanking everyone who has played so far, he added, “It’s amazing to see so many people enjoying this game and recommending it to each other, especially now in the run-up to Halloween.”
That’s true; now is undeniably the best time to play Crow Country. If you have fond memories of survival horror from the PS1 days, this game will catch you in a fresh and familiar way. For those who have already explored its terrifying yet strangely comforting depths, there are also plenty of goodies on the way from Fangamer. The first round of items will be available on October 29, with subsequent items – including physical releases on PS5 and Switch – arriving in 2025.
