“For those who come later.” This is a basic but effective phrase from this year’s edition of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, which stuck in many people’s minds for almost the entire year. But although Expedition 33 won the hearts of many people, it was not the only one. In 2025, the highly anticipated game Hollow Knight: Silksong was released, and with the release of Nintendo Switch 2 we got the fresh Mario Kart, Donkey Kong, and the sequel to IGN’s 2020 Game of the Year, Hades 2. In the world of entertainment, we have a lot of great movies like Superman, Sinners, Weapons, and probably the best Predator movie ever, Predator: Badlands.
Every year, across all media, there are situations where critics and audiences either agree or disagree. This will never change, we are talking about opinions after all, although this year we have definitely seen more alignment than usual. Every year we ask you all to vote for each of our award categories, and many of our awards also went to the games, shows and movies of your choice. This is a great sign that our thoughts and opinions are aligned with those of our community.
But what did you vote for? Here are the full results of each Community Award, as voted for by you, the IGN community (results finalized at 12:00 ET on 12/20).

Thank you to everyone who participated in the community voted award categories this year. In 17 of the 23 categories, the winner received over 40% of the total votes, showing a sense of unity about what you considered your favorites in 2025. Clair Obscur, as many expected, challenged and won all nine categories in which it was nominated. Meanwhile, Andor was a huge crowd favorite, sweeping across all four categories around TV. Predator: Badlands won by the smallest margin, securing the win in the Best Science Fiction or Fantasy Film category over Frankenstein by just 1.1%, while Blue Prince won by the largest margin, earning over 72% of the votes in the Best Puzzle Game category. Thank you again to everyone who voted. And now, with gigantic games like GTA 6, Marvel’s Wolverine, and other major releases on the horizon, we can’t wait to see how 2026 ends and discover your favorite games this time next year.
Throughout the year, we’ve been monitoring those who don’t contribute to a positive experience at IGN. We regularly remove the most problematic users to improve the overall experience for all users. However, we exploit this time before the end of the year as an opportunity to remove those who were given more time to see if their violations throughout the year were part of a pattern or if they were potentially just someone who had a bad day or week. So, in addition to recognizing users who have elevated our community, we’ve also removed some users who consistently violate our community guidelines. These blocked accounts are accounts that engage in hate speech, harassment, or other toxic behavior. We know these actions aren’t always popular, but they are imperative as part of our commitment to creating a unthreatening and welcoming space for everyone at IGN.
As we continue to grow our community, we will continue to monitor and address any problematic behavior to ensure our community remains a positive and inclusive place for all. By working together, we can create a community of respect, support and enjoyment.
We appreciate our readers who regularly make us their home for gaming, entertainment and more. We are excited to continue building and improving together in the months and years ahead. Thank you again to everyone who regularly goes the extra mile to ensure a positive IGN experience.
