The original 2005 version of Need for Speed: Most Wanted is certainly one of the most popular games in the series, and it turns out that a remake isn’t completely impossible.
In the thirty years of the series’ existence, it can definitely be argued that 2005’s Need for Speed: Most Wanted is the best of the bunch. It was a huge success and is still the best-selling game in the series, so it’s no surprise that there are fans who want a remake of it. Well, we have good news for those of you who fall into this category, because it seems to be possible. Reddit user Jarol2K shared a clip of him seemingly interviewing Derek Hamilton, who played Razor in the original Most Wanted, at a convention, asking how the game changed the actor’s life.

This year was actually the series’ 30th anniversary, and last month game developers shared during a roundtable that the biggest challenge for modern entries is “literally the age of the series.” The most recent release was 2022’s Need for Speed Unbound, which was generally well received, but apparently performed quite poorly compared to its predecessor Heat. So it seems that at this point our best bet is to hope that EA will make a remake of Most Wanted, although no one knows if that will be the right choice for the series.
