HP Omen 35L review

This is a computer with a tower that you can put in your shoulder and easily wear. It looks great, with internal components in white (matching the housing) with a black motherboard, and the graphics card enclosed in a cage, which makes it look like a bridge that fell out of the Halo match. Around the AIO CPU pump block, there are additional heat sinks, two front RGB fans that sit behind a perforated grille, thanks to which the view of the glow scattered into hundreds of points. Even the Omen brand is largely circumspect, restrained to the logo on the processor cooler and the word marker at the front and non-pounding sides.

The choice of HP is good. At the front and the front there are easily available USB ports, including 10 GBPS-C type. On the back there is only one Thunderbolt 4, which can force people to apply it for non-gaming purposes who want to connect a few quick external SSDs, but besides, omen 35L is well defined in terms of input data and is frosty to see Fi 7 on a desktop computer.

The components used to create a computer are less constrained than its external. GeForce RTX 4080 Super, which we all know, one of the best graphics cards for games and one that should maintain its usability long after the 50 RTX series cards took all the best places in the rankings. The fresh Intel Core Ultra 7 265K is less common, Arrow Lake processor with 20 cores, including eight full -fat P. The maximum turbo frequency of 5.5 GHz and K designation, which means that it is unlocked for overclocking.

And the fresh Core Ultra turns out to be a very execution set of the set. At the demanding reference point, Cinebench 2024 is fed next to the 24-core Core i9 13900K and 32-core Threadripper 2990WX. The 20-core Apple M1 Ultra and 24-core XEON W-3265M passes. The most surprising, gives a better multi -core result than AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, the current king of game processors. In other SSD tests – the Western Digital Black PCIE 4.0 model according to the 3D sign – speeds that are clearly PCIE 3.0. It is not clear whether it is according to the design, whether it is somewhere incorrectly configured, or maybe Szpilka does not connect correctly, but it is disappointing. This is transferred to 300 Mb/s when other disks on other computers regularly exceed the 500 mark.

Despite this, the computer is doing very well in games, its graphic processor overcomes other super RTX 4080 discs and was approaching RTX 4090 levels during 3D Mark Extreme. This synthetic reference point, however, is not a real world, but the card is doing well in real games, able to ensure an average of 52 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 at 4K and in the mode of leaving the rays. Interesting with DLSS settings and you can easily get over 60.

In other games we get results that become typical of RTX 4080 Super in a desktop computer. You will not have difficulty obtaining 60 FPS on this card, regardless of which game you play in, and the news that DLSS 4 can come to RTX 40 cards apply this card for years.

The Baldur’s Gate 3 result may seem a little protruding, but it is to show what difference a good processor can make. The game scales impressively with different processors and you can see where Ryzen 7 9800x3D pulls forward thanks to the power of processing with 3D V-CieE support.

But while all these games are ongoing, omen 35l does little more than noise. During the compression of the pair for creating backups on the external drive of the processor fans (on AIO there is 240 mm), but remained relatively circumspect, and the GPU fans followed in their footsteps, rendering complicated scenes. It is also extremely frosty, and the processor barely moves to 74 ° C during video coding.

Intel investments in processor performance led to a slightly disappointing first generation Ultra Ultra Laptopland chips, which were pushed further by the arrival of a fresh pretender in the form of Snapdragon Qualcomm chips, but the second generation of the stationary processor seems to hit Bullseye in terms of efficiency and performance.

And at least as long as AMD has not hit and Snapdragon reaches desktop computers, both of which will happen. Arrow Lake will not give you a tranquil computer with a run – the noise is there, but it will not bring relatives spending the stairs to see what this confusion is about.

And not making a confusion is perhaps what omen 35L is the best. This is not a huge or massive machine, but it is tranquil attention. White enclosures, cooler and component cages give it an elegant look, the quality of workmanship is perfect, and the results in games (and the computer like this is used far beyond games) speak for themselves. Although there may be a bit of range to lose almost 3000 USD on the pre -built game computer, if everyone was like that, the decision would be much easier. Goldilocks would gladly sit on this computer from computer games, while wiping porridge from her mouth, for several rounds Diablo 4. Of course, he plays as a druid.
