How to unlock the mask (glasses) in FFXIV

Face coveringslike glasses, they have a separate space for equipment Ultimate Fantasy 14so you can wear hats AND glasses.

This update came with version 7.0 at launch Dawn Trail extension so you can actually replace your ancient glasses with modern facial protection accessories.
While they take up space on the inventory screen, they are purely decorative and do not provide any stats.

We explain below where to buy a mask FFXIV AND how to accessorize your face correctly.

How to unlock the mask in FFXIV

Face masks work on the same principle as fashion accessories: you can purchase single-use items and unlock them permanently.

If you already had some of the Level 1 Glasses Charm items prior to Update 7.0, you can exchange them for the Headgear by following these steps:

1. Take out all the glasses you have in your dressing table.
2. Go talk to A Rescuer from misfortune. Select “Replace Glasses.” This will automatically convert any eligible glasses to headgear.
3. Check what you have managed to go through figure > face covering menu.

You can find Calamity Salvagers in each of the three main cities: Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks (11.4, 14.4), Old Gridania (10, 8.4), and Ul’dah – Steps of Thal (12.6, 13.1).

Please note that some items are not converted in the way you might expect. Even though we had “pince-nez” glasses, we did not replace them with “contemporary pince-nez glasses.” Not all glasses transfer to 1:1 copies either. I replaced the “classic glasses” with “oval glasses”, which look completely different.

You can also buy other glasses in the store Golden saucer from the person receiving the prize (in the “Prize Exchange III” menu). The following glasses are for sale:

• Thick-rimmed glasses (30,000 MGP)
• Modern Pince-nez (40,000 MGP)
• Rimless glasses (MGP 70,000)
• Minstrel Glasses (90,000 MGP)
• Oval glasses (100,000 MGP)

There may be other glasses accessories behind shops and NPC rewards when patch 7.0 debuts, but these are the ones we know of at the time of writing.

How to equip facial gear in FFXIV

To set up a face covering, simply open the face covering menu in the character menu, select the color of glasses you want to wear, and select “equip.” That’s all.

If you find this arduous, make sure you don’t click on the face covering “style” and select it from the “Color” section below.

Once you’re done, you can update your loadout and your facial loadout selection will be saved with it, allowing you to wear different glasses with different outfits. Great!
