The next installment in the Mario Party series is finally here, filled with more boards, characters and mini-games than ever before. Mario Party Jamboree is the most solid entry and the culmination of a successful game in the series on Switch.
While there’s a lot to explore and discover on your own when playing the game, longtime Mario Party fans will want to unlock as much content as possible as quickly as possible. We all want to play every board right away to find our favorites and spend some time as novel playable characters. Fortunately, there are unlockable characters and boards Jamboree they are quite effortless to unlock!
How to unlock characters in Super Mario Party Jamboree
When you first start playing Jamboree, You will immediately see two mysterious characters on the character selection screen. In previous Mario Party entries, unlocking novel characters required a lot of effort – from winning a certain number of games to long mini-game marathons – but in Jamboree, you can unlock novel characters instantly. You just need to know where to look.
Both secret characters will join your party if you spot them from the balloon. However, without magnification you won’t be able to see them, so here’s where to look.
How to unlock Paulina
Pauline, Mario’s first lady in distress in the arcade game Donkey Kong i mayor of New Donk City z Super Mario Odyssey, waiting on the diminutive sandbar between Mario Party Island and Minigame Bay. Zoom in to find her, interact with her and she will become a playable character.
How to unlock Ninja
Nijies are usually the first enemies in the Mario universe to appear Super Mario Bros. 2 and appeared in newer versions such as Super Mario Run AND Super Mario Bros. Miracle, but this time I’m joining in the fun. You’ll find Ninja on top of two islands behind the Rhythm Kitchen building. Simply zoom in and interact with the Ninja to have him join your party as a playable character.
How to unlock every board in Super Mario Party Jamboree
When you first start up, there are four boards you can play on Jamboree: Mega Wiggler’s Tree Party, Rainbow Galleria, Goomba Lagoon and Roll ’em Raceway.
At the beginning, the next three boards are hidden, although you can still see on the map where they will live: the Westlands, Mario’s Rainbow Castle, and King Bowser’s Keep.
To unlock these additional boards, simply play the games by leveling up and progressing through the Jamboree reward track, a free-to-play Battle Pass-style system. You level up by playing the game and earning achievements. New levels are unlocked at the following levels:
- Silver Rank (Level 10): Western Land board and Classic Bonus Stars option
- Gold rank (level 20): Mario’s Rainbow Castle board
- Platinum Rank (Level 30): King Bowser’s Fortress board and Boss Rush mode (found in Minigame Bay)
