There are six of them vending machines IN The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdomoptional little robots you can have to aid you in battle.
For the most part, the automatons can be bypassed entirely, although they are somewhat useful in taking out swarms of enemies at once. You can play through the entire game without them, as the only thing that specifically requires an auto is the side quest: “An Out-There Zol”.
Below we explain where to find Dampé to unlock the slots, as well as what echoes and items you need to provide him with to craft each slot.
Where to unlock slot machines in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
You need to find Dampé Hyrule Field before you unlock the machines. We only saw him after beating the Hyrule Castle dungeon, so he probably won’t be available until this part of the game.
Its location is quite random – in one case we found it near the Hyrule Ranch, in another it was found northwest of Lake Hylia. It may appear in other areas, so you’ll want to search for it. Help him by defeating the crow and he will thank you and go to his workshop.
His workshop can be found north of the Eastern Temple and he has his own warp waypoint. Once you get there, he will need your aid in creating automatons, which brings us to the next part.
How to Make a Techtite Slot Machine (“Dampé Slot Engineer”)
To aid Dampé, you must place echoes matching his description on the platform in front of him. The descriptions and answers for this first slot machine are as follows:
- “A creature with a big eye – one that’s always jumping” – Tektite echo
- “Something that shoots hot smoke out the back and flies forward.” Echo of Mothula
Tektites can be found in the western field of Hyrule, and mothula can be found in the Gerudo Sanctum dungeon.
Once you place it on the pedestal, it will react excitedly and get to work, making you a Techtite automaton.
This automaton jumps high into the sky, blasting all enemies in a huge circle around where it jumped.
How to Make a Tocktorok (“Lots of Explosions”) Slot Machine
Now when you interact with his book, you’ll get a recent option to complete one of his other tasks.
- “A creature that spits stones out of its mouth” – Octorok Echo
- The echo of fireworkscan only be obtained through the “Fireworks Artist” side quest in Goron City
Please note that in order to even receive this side quest, you must clear the rift in the Eldin Volcano area. If you’re not that far into the game yet, you’ll need to come back later. There are plenty of Octorocks to be found on the Suthorn Prairie.
This machine shoots fireworks at enemies extremely quickly.
After completing this slot, you will have three more to complete in the Dampé notebook, which you can choose in any order.
How to Make a Gizmol Machine (“Performer”)
To create this automaton, Dampé requests the following:
- “The Puking Monster with Cute Little Eyes” – Zol Echo
- “The Part That Makes Beautiful Sounds” by Hyrule Ranch – Part of a prismatic music box from Hyrule Ranch
You will get the Music Box by completing the Flag Races at Hyrule Ranch. You will have to complete the compact course and then the middle course, each of which has an entry fee of 10 rupees. Both races are quite compact, you just need to get on your horse and touch five flags on the path within a certain time.
Zola can be found in huge numbers in Suthorn Forest and Hyrule Field.
Once you have the music box, you can talk to Dampé to give it to him and he will turn you into an automaton.
The Gizmol machine dances and sings while shooting musical bubbles that damage enemies that touch it.
How to make a High-Teku Baba (“Endless Stomach”) machine
For this machine, Dampé will also do the following:
- “A creature that swallows things with its powerful jaws” – Deku Father Lv. 2 Echo
- “A special part that can enhance her ability to clamp objects” – Steel Trap Item from the acorn man
You can get the Steel Trap item from the strange acorn man in the western part of Hyrule Field. After collecting all the acorns for him within the given time, you will receive a Steel Trap from him.
You can find deku baba lv. 2 on Faron Wetlands, south of Scrubton.
High-Teku Baba eats and swallows enemies, but remember that it cannot be moved once placed, so you will need to lure enemies to it once placed.
How to Make a Roboblin Machine (“Cut It in Half”)
Dampé will ask for the following information:
- “A monster with a sword who fights side by side with others” – Any Sword Moblin Echo
- “Special Weapon” – Katana’s legacy item from Kakariko village
You can get the katana in the dojo in the western part of Kakariko village. You will need to complete six challenges for the dojo master to give you the katana.
We probably don’t need to tell you where to find sword moblins since they are almost everywhere, but you can find them in enemy camps near Hyrule.
When you give him the item and show him the echo, he will make you a Roboblin automaton, a fighting automaton that will fight for you. It circles a huge triangle in front of itself, allowing it to hit multiple enemies at once.
How to make a goldfinch slot machine (“Get rich quick!”)
You can only make this automaton when you finish making the others.
Dampé will ask you for the following information:
- Echo of the crow
- “A really unique, eye-catching something” – Golden Fan item from the Gerudo desert oasis
To obtain the Golden Fan, you must complete the standard seed level and the Mango Rush intensive seed level in the oasis.
The goldfinch works the same way as the crows – you can employ it to glide by picking it up and it drops rupees from enemies. But the Goldfinch is knocking way more rupees from enemies, so you will receive blue and red rupees more often.
After creating the goldfinch, Dampé will make you an offer in exchange for five monster stones. Agree to trade with him and you will receive Mechanical bracelet an accessory enabling faster winding of machines.
