Lifer is a boss that is challenging to find and even harder to defeat The Whirling Wave Rinacista, thanks to its unique location and various reinforcements. Below you will find a description of how to find and defeat him.
Where to find Life in Wuthering Tides
Lifer finds himself at the center of a huge maze located in the heart Fagaceae Peninsula zone, inside Oakheart Tall Courtyard. This location takes up most of the entire zone and is hard to navigate, especially since there is an illusory trick involved in getting to the center. More on this subject soon.
When you look at this huge maze, your first instinct may be to apply the Flight Utility to fly above the walls. Unfortunately, these illusions I mentioned prevent you from doing this: you will get to the center, but every time you will reach a dead end. Instead, you have to enter the maze at the designated entrance and follow the navigation path laid out in front of you to get to the correct center.
Navigating the maze
Start by going to Fagaceae Peninsula, Highcourt Oakheart Resonance signal. By teleporting there, you will find yourself directly in front of the correct entrance.
You’ll know you’re in the right place when you see this ominous-looking statue in front of you.

Go through the entrance behind the statue and interact with the stone tablet before continuing.

The plaque tells a little about the maze’s history, but the most significant part is in parentheses: you must follow the path of plaques that litter the maze to reach the Life Within.
Once you’re done looking at the board, walk past it, following the path. Do not apply the extreme left detour.

For now, you want to continue heading towards the inner part of the maze, so make sure the path you’re taking does just that. You’ll likely encounter a few enemies along the way, so deal with them when they appear. Keep following the path until you reach the next one stone tablet on the ground and then interact with it.

This is where things can get complicated. The path that must now be followed is thereby cut off three Overflowing Pallets in the areathat you need to solve to progress. Before you proceed, make a mental note of how you got to the tablet.
Now there is the first Overflowing Palette on top of the tree above the mazeon the middle platform it holds up. Climb the tree (or apply Flight) until you reach the platform itself.

The last two Overflowing Pallets are located completely outside the maze, in the towers towering above and surrounding it. Climb to the top of each one and solve the puzzle in the middle.

Once all three Overflow Palettes have been resolved, a cutscene will appear showing the color returning to the area. Gameplay-wise, golden swirls will surround the entire area above the maze, allowing you to apply Flight indefinitely as long as you stay on the golden track. This is a key indicator that you are ready to enter the inner part of the maze and face Lifer.

Return to the tablet you left behind. Return through the main entrance and return if you have trouble getting back to it from above. From the sign, head left and take the first left turn you see.

As soon as you turn, turn right and follow the path around. Don’t go any further left once you clear the walls surrounding the bend. Follow the path around and take the next right you come across, heading towards the interior of the maze.

Ignore the next left turn and go past the maze door on the right until you reach the second left turn in the area. You’ll know you’re in the right place when you see another stone tablet nearby.

Interact with the tablet and then follow the path away from the center of the maze. After hitting the back wall, take the next right.

From here, follow the path around until you see the next one stone tablet with whom you will have contact. You will know you are in the right place if the area is illuminated with golden featherlight.

Follow the path towards the golden featherlight, heading towards the last stone tablet. Behind him is an open door leading to the heart of the maze’s depths. Go through it and you will come face to face with Lifer.

How to defeat Life in Wuthering Tides
Lifer is an extremely powerful enemy Windy wavesthanks to the absurd number of power-ups he can access at any time. But before you can face him in battle, you must first play his game.

This game is a strange combination of tic-tac-toe and chess. Lifer controls the white pieces while you control the black ones. Your goal is to arrange the pieces in one line. You can either beat Lifer at his game to get the reward – a hard task that will likely take several tries – or apply a tried and true method of fighting. After a few rounds of failure in the game, you will be given the option to fight directly.

Selecting this option will initiate direct combat, but before you do so, note that Lifer has done this 300% of the enemy’s strength. This means that fighting him now will end in a very hard encounter, which you will probably lose. However, it can be weakened significantly by turning off most of its buffs.
How to disable Lifer buffs

Turning off Lifer buffs is directly related to playing Tic-Tac-Toe, although this time your goal is not to win. If you look around the Lifer’s room, you’ll notice several doors, including one behind him. All of these doors lead to different, previously inaccessible areas of the maze. Some also lead to places where this is possible remove buff from Lifer. You can determine which doors lead to areas associated with Life buffs by using Transducer and following purple path it reveals it.

This door can be opened with matching your black element to any of them. This will open the initial door and give you a full path to the outside of the maze, an area that was previously inaccessible to you. This can be done for any door in the middle.

Once the door opens, follow the path all the way to the back and search terminal in the area.

Interacting with the terminal will allow you to disable a number of Lifer’s buffs. You may need to find one key element before you can, search the area with the terminal. Each terminal has one, located in the same room.
Fight with Lifer
Once you are ecstatic with the number of buffs removed from the Livestock, you can engage it in combat and defeat it quite easily. Ignoring buffs, Lifer is simply buffed Chop, chopwith an extremely similar moveset.

Of course, if you’re looking for a challenge, you can also attack the Livestock with all of its buffs enabled. This will require a lot of firepower and constant DPS, as Lifer will heal itself if it takes too long to deal damage. He is also extremely strong and can easily fend off some of the most powerful attacks in the game.
