Connecting Where the winds meet the Silver Needle Sect this is one of the more challenging side activities in the early game, and you can only tell this in the cult when you interact with other players. You’ll also need to level up a bit before you unlock the profession that allows you to join a cult.
Below we explain how to join the Silver Needle Sect in Where Winds Meet and why you should choose this sect. If you are also interested in other groups in the game, check out our guide to the Where Winds Meet sect.
How to become a healer in Where Winds Meet
Before you can even attempt to join the Silver Needle Sect, you must unlock the healing profession. To do this you need to:
- Reach level 13 or higher
- Talk to Mu Ji’an in the City of Mercy
Or, more specifically, talk to Mu Ji’an northwest of the City of Mercy’s boundary stone, as a healer is on the edge of a cliff tending to a patient.
Mu Ji’an will ask you to collect herbs to cure a poisoned traveler, and the task marks the location of the herbs on your map. Catch them, return to Mu Ji’an and complete the healing mini-game to get the traveler back on his feet.
You must complete this quest and become a healer before you can start the Silver Needle Sect mission.
How to join the Silver Needle Sect in Where Winds Meet
Once you become a healer, head south of Moonveil Mountain. You are aiming either at the river bordering the Qingque part of the city on the map or at Knoll Sage. If you found a clue about the Silver Needle in the journal, you will go to Sage’s Knoll, find out that Dr. Yuan has disappeared, and find him near the river. Alternatively, we discovered that if you NO if you follow the hint, you can find Dr. Yuan in his shop in Sage’s Knoll.
Either way, once you talk to him, he will have a task for you: cure three more patients. The difference between this mission and the first healer mission is that you must request certain forms of payment. Quest markers lead to each patient, so just follow them to get started.
- Sick Merchant: Ask for “ill-gotten wealth” as payment.
- Wounded Villager: Ask for the Jar of Parting Tears
- Second patient: Never mind. Regardless, you decide to receive free treatment
Return to Dr. Yuan for a lesson in demanding fair compensation for services rendered. Staying in the Silver Needle Sect’s good graces requires healing other players and demanding compensation for it, so practice A) not playing solo and B) demanding payment.
Staying in the Silver Needle Sect gives you access to the Sect Shop, which offers various items as your reputation increases, such as a Buddha’s Tear at the initial rank and a novel hairstyle later (but not a hair dye color).
