How to get to the back gate of Shadowkeep in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

This Shadowkeep Back Gate is one of many exits from the Shadowkeep Ring of Fire‘as DLC, The shadow of the Erd treebut the back gate is also the only entrance to the interior The background.

The back gate will lead you to several landmarks, such as the Chalice of Scaduview and the Hinterlands, the elusive upper right corner of the map in the Shadowlands, which is required for the Ruins map (2nd) in the Count Ymir questline.

Getting to the back gate is a challenge in itself, as there is no clearly marked entrance on the map. However, it is known that the way leads through Shadowkeep.

How to get to the Shadow Keep Back Gate Site of Grace

To start, teleport to Entrance to the church district Place of Gracewhich is located northwest of the Manus Metyr Cathedral.

Jump to the building in front of you and continue along the roof to the right towards the next building. Jumping to the next building may seem impossible, but you can do it if you exploit the pointy roofs. Sprint across the pointy roof and jump onto the building to the northwest.

Continue along the edge of the building to the right until you reach the northern corner. Jump to the platform on the right and quickly jump to the building northwest of you to avoid the newly arrived enemies.

There is a Fire Knight on this building, which we recommend defeating, but you can also sprint past him. Head south to the lower half of the roof and look southeast to find the buttress, which is a sloping stone support. Jump onto the buttress and continue to the roof where there is a huge hole in it.

Jump into the hole leading to the arches below and go to the gigantic hole in the floor to the southwest. Drop inside and follow the path northwest where several Fire Knights reside. Either defeat them or run past them and enter third door on the left. Follow this path and take the elevator up to the specimen warehouse.

Go left to find Warehouse, back section, place of grace and activate it. Head west and climb the ladder straight ahead, which will lead you to another Flame Knight with his back to you.

Avoid the Fire Knight and take the stairs to the east. Behind the bookshelf you will find a hole in the wall leading to a wooden path that wraps around the outside wall of the Shadow Keep. Follow the path to find Magazine, Loft Site of Grace.

Take the elevator to the top of the arches and follow the path on the left to find a ladder leading up. Climb the ladder and follow the path ahead towards the gigantic wooden gear. Step down onto the gear wheel and jump to the wooden platform.

Continue forward until you reach the edge of the platform and drop down to the area below. From here, go through the door to the north and take the elevator down. Follow the path to find another elevator and take it down to find Shadowkeep, Backgate, Place of Mercy.

Starting of Shadow Keep, Back Gate, Place of Graceturn into the hall on the right to find it Marika statueApproach the statue and make the “Oh Mother” gesture to unlock the secret entrance to the Hinterlands.

Now you can continue searching for the ruin map (2nd place), which is required to continue Count Ymir’s storyline.
