How to Get Starchrome in Once Human

Published:

Once Human, being the giant sci-fi survival game that it is, has a lot of resources that you have to constantly collect and worry about while exploring and beating up nasty creatures. One such resource that you may not come across until a little later in the game is Starchrom; currency that can be used to participate in Once Human’s Wish system.

This is where, oddly enough, Once Human clashes with Genshin Impact and similar games, letting players risk their hard-earned currency for fancy weapon blueprints and more. If you’re as eager as I was when I heard about it, here’s how to get starchrom in once humanand how to exploit it.

How to Get Starchrome in Once Human

There are a few ways to earn Starchrome in Once Human. Some you’ll earn naturally through exploration and questing, but others require a bit of work.

Achieve seasonal and travel goals

If you open the main menu in Once Human and select the latest scenario in the top right corner, you will be presented with a number of Season Goals, completing which will reward you with a currency called the Mitsuko Mark.

However, if you complete enough of these goals, you can receive additional rewards in the form of Starchrom and Meme points.

Furthermore, if you open the Travel menu by pressing the “J” key, you will see many different Travel Destinations that you should check regularly.

Similar to Season Goals, you’ll have multiple objectives to complete that will reward you with EXP and Energy Links. Once you complete a full set of these objectives, you’ll be rewarded with a controller and some Starchrome.

Here you can introduce purifiable items such as Eclipse Cortex to refine them into Starchrom. However, every refinement comes with a risk, as three waves of enemies will descend on your base during the process; they can also bombard your base.

Buy from sellers

At any of the major camps in Once Human—such as Deadsville, Greywater Camp, or Meyer’s Market—you can speak to a Merchant named Severin and trade Stellar Planula for Starchrom.

For 100 Stellar Planula you can get 500 Starchrom. Although you can only make this purchase eight times in one season.

Prime War Events on PvE Servers

Once Human’s PvE servers host events known as Prime Wars. These are public, multiplayer events where players must band together to build a defense against — and ultimately fight — a particularly complex enemy.

These events have a limit on the number of players that can participate, so if you see an event on the map (like in the screenshot above), get ready and head there as soon as possible.

How to exploit Starchrom in Once Human

Starchrome in Once Human is used to gamble on Wish Machines. You can access Wish Machines in many of the main camps (such as Greywater Camp), or you can craft one in your base after unlocking the Wish Machine Memetic.

Once you have some Starchrome and a Wishing Machine to exploit it in, you can spend the Starchrome on any of the available banners or purchase it from the Blueprint Shop.

Choosing to spend it on one of the random banners will take you into a game of whack-a-llama. You’ll receive a blueprint for every hit you make on the llama, and the game will end when your Starchrome runs out or you get a piece of S-rank gear.

Alternatively, you can save up your Starchrome and buy the blueprints you need directly from the Blueprint Shop. They are much more exorbitant than gambling on the blueprints as you might expect, but if there is a specific weapon you want more than anything else, it is worth being patient and saving up!
