Like most survival games, Once Human will require you to spend a fair amount of time gathering resources if you want to survive all the strange threats that the New World brings. One resource you’ll need sooner or later is iron ore.
Farming for Iron Ore isn’t something you can do right away in Once Human, instead it requires a certain level and crafting of better gear before you can get it in gigantic quantities. To assist you out, here’s how to get iron ore in once human.
How to Get Iron Ore in Once Human
To get iron ore in Once Human, you need to make enough progress in the main storyline to be able to craft a brown pickaxe. You also, ideally, want to be around Level 21 or higher before we go to the Iron River area, where there are deposits of iron ore.
First of all, to craft a Bronze Pickaxe, you need to apply Meme Points to unlock the basic Smelting, Copper Pickaxes, Bronze Crafting, and Bronze Pickaxes items in the Meme Menu.
Once you unlock them, you can craft a Bronze Pickaxe at a Supply Workbench using 7 Bronze Ingots, 5 Logs, and 1 Rawhide.
Then you need to equip yourself with a brown pickaxe and travel north from the Dayton Wetlands to the Iron River region. Where Winding Ridge Farmland is located — between East Blackfell Junction and Sicci Securement Point — you’ll find gigantic gray and red stones. These are iron ore nodes, and there are plenty of them.
If you arrive earlier than planned, be careful and be sure to pack some healing items and a good weapon. You can even set up a fleeting camp nearby if you plan on staying here for a while.
While the recommended level for exploring Iron River is 21, the recommended level for points of interest in these areas is between 25 and 30. Additionally, NPCs in East Blackfell Junction will shoot at you if you get too close to them.
