How to dig up buried treasure chests in Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom

In a game focused on exploration like Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, it’s reasonable to expect buried treasure around every corner.

However, another cornerstone of Echoes of Wisdom is its employ of Zelda’s powers in artistic and often unexplained ways. When you approach different types of problems, you should consider every option in your toolbox, but while this is great fun, it can also lead to a lot of confusion.

One such confusing mechanic in Echoes of Wisdom is the buried treasure chests that can be found throughout Hyrule. These chests often contain rupees, smoothie ingredients, and other electrifying rewards, but it’s not immediately obvious how to access them – here’s what you need to do.

To pull buried chests out of the ground, press X to throw Tri forward and make him possess the chest.

Then, back away from the crate until Zelda starts pulling on the rope connecting her to Tri.

Eventually, the treasure chest will be pulled out of the ground and you will be free to loot the goodies inside.

It’s very basic to forget that you have this power, as most of Echoes of Wisdom focuses on finding artistic uses for the titular Echoes in both combat situations and puzzle-solving.

However, you can employ the power of Tri in more settings than you might think. First, you can defeat Venus’ flytrap-like flower enemies, the Deku Babas, by tearing off their flower heads as if you were pulling a chest out of the ground.

You can also employ Tri to manipulate objects in puzzles, especially through unsound walls or prison bars, allowing you to place objects on switches or knock over other objects, even if it doesn’t initially look like you can reach them at all!
