How to Complete All Salvation’s Edge Challenges in Destiny 2

Published:

Salvation’s Edge Challenges are mandatory if you want to get The lithe is on The triumph needed to secure a up-to-date rally title Destiny 2: Final Form, Iconoclast.

These challenges add an optional wrinkle to any encounter that you can complete to earn bonus loot. The challenges change every encounter each week, and only one is energetic at a time. This changes when a up-to-date raid comes out and enters the weekly raid rotation, where all the challenges become available.

Including Destiny 2 In this guide, we’ll show you how to complete each of the five raid challenges in Salvation’s Edge.

Note: Due to the complexity of these challenges, this guide assumes a general knowledge and understanding of the core mechanics of Salvation’s Edge and the five encounters. If you’re unsure how an encounter works, check out our complete Salvation’s Edge guide before diving into the challenges.

How to Complete the Substratum “Scenic Route” Challenge

Image: Bungie via Polygon

The Scenic Route challenge is the first encounter in Salvation’s Edge, Substratum.

To summon the Tormentor and proceed to the encounter, you must first kill the Overload Minotaur. Two Overload Minotaurs are summoned each phase, one on each side of the team’s map.

However, the spawn is not consistent across teams. One team will always encounter their Overload Minotaur in the third room they reach, while the other team will always encounter their Overload Minotaur in the fourth room. To complete the challenge, you only have to kill the Overload Minotaur that appears in the fourth roommeaning that the first team to encounter the Overload (in room three) cannot kill their own.

You can tell which team will have the Overload Minotaur in room four by which team has the Vex Hobgoblins in their first room. If you see these Hobgoblins, that means you need to keep moving forward until you find an Overload Minotaur to kill. If not, be careful not to kill your Overload Minotaur when you get to it.

The only real change to the strategy is to be careful. Have a player on each side responsible for both room counting and checking for Hobgoblins. The biggest fail rate is if the wrong team accidentally kills their Overload because they aren’t paying attention. You’ll want to make sure you’re still moving quickly in this encounter, though, because this challenge will add 10 to 30 seconds to your phases.

How to Complete the At Capacity Dispersal Challenge

The At Capacity challenge is for the second encounter in Salvation’s Edge, Dissipation.

To complete the At Capacity quest, you can only bank your Resonance if you have x3 Resonance. If you have less, the challenge will fail if you contact your bank.

While collecting Resonance on each side, have the player activating the Conduit catch only one Resonance they need, and have the player bouncing catch three Resonances of any kind. Then activate the Conduit and have only the players bouncing dunk.

This strategy means you’ll only get nine Resonance per phase, which is about 15 seconds less than the full time refund. This means that this method requires you to act quickly in each phase, but it’s much easier than the alternative methods, where Conduit players run to the other side to get the Resonance bonus (which is a waste of time in itself). We recommend finding ways to speed things up—such as memorizing enemy spawn locations—rather than going out of your way to plant the bonus Resonance.

How to Complete the Balanced Diet Repository Challenge

The Balanced Diet Challenge is the third encounter in Salvation’s Edge, Repository.

The requirements for this challenge are as follows: you can never get the same type of resonance twice in a row.

To do this, figure out what shape you need for the Conduit and work backwards. So if you’re a triangle, first grab a square and a circle, then grab the triangle you need for the dunk. This requires a lot more running than the regular method of grabbing a shape, but other than that, it’s difficult to go wrong if you put your mind to it.

The only problem is that the challenge goes from room to room. So if you need the triangle symbol to pot the ball like in the example above, you can’t catch the triangle, even after moving on to the next room. If you’re having trouble remembering the last symbol, try writing it down in the chat or in a nearby notebook.

How to Complete Verity’s “Diverse Geometry” Challenge

The Challenge of Diverse Geometry concerns the fourth encounter in Salvation’s Edge, Verity.

This is definitely the hardest challenge in Salvation’s Edge and requires you to defeat Verity by using all six 3D shapes to escape before your team replicates any shapesThis means that phase one and phase three are normal, but you will have to make some major changes in phase 2.

So that all your internal players can escape with a different 3D shape than the one you used in the first phase, you will need everyone to grab identical shapes. Instead of grabbing a circle and a square, the player on the left grabs two circles, and so on. The best way to do this is for the players on the inside to make the call they see on the inside—for example, CST (circle, square, triangle)—and then move it one space to the right. So it would be: CST to TCS.

Once you understand the call, you can continue. The player slicing will need to match the outer shapes to the up-to-date, shifted call. So in the above example, the left one would be a double triangle, the middle one a double circle, and the right one a double square. Simply follow the normal slicing protocol to swap the correct shapes in these locations. Once you’re done, you need to have all three 3D shapes in the correct position that is based on the shifted call—the triangle (pyramid), the circle (sphere), and the square (cube) in the above example.

The players inside have a slightly more complicated task here, but there is a elementary way to do it. Trade shapes around until you have both shapes your statue started with (if you are a square player, become the square master, as usual). Then deal squares to the other players. Once everyone is done, you will need to make one last trade to get two of the same shape.

If you started as a square player in the above example — the middle player — here’s what you would do:

  1. Trade until you become the master of the fields, getting rid of all the fields that are not yours.
  2. Arrange the squares in a circle and a triangle.
  3. Wait until you receive a circle from the circle player and a triangle from the triangle player.
  4. Do not shape the cone the way you normally do.
  5. Look at the up-to-date connection and see that your up-to-date position — after the change — is a circle.
  6. Pass your triangle to the player on your left and wait for the player on your right to give you the second circle.
  7. Once all the circles are in your possession and the section is complete, exit the circle/orb holding the glass.

If you want a visual explanation that uses slightly a different strategy than described above, I recommend checking it out DateInstructional video containing fragments of gameplay.

Keep in mind that everything else in the fight continues as normal beyond the second phase, so once you’ve mastered this up-to-date method, all you need to do is remember to swap them around.

How to Complete the Witness Challenge Coordinated Actions

The “Coordinated Efforts” challenge applies to the fifth and final encounter in Salvation’s Edge, The Witness.

To complete this challenge, you must break all six of The Witness’s seals (the buttons on his jacket) within a few seconds of each other. This requires all six players to have Glyphbreaker at the same time.

The best strategy here is to split into two groups of three, as usual. But instead of three runners and three enemy assassins, you switch roles once the first three hands are laid out. The only thing to remember is that the first players to get a Glyphbreaker need to keep an eye on their Resonance counters, because you’ll die if they expire. To get around this, have your most experienced Glyphbreakers go first and keep their Resonance below x3. If their counter gets close to zero, they simply need to get another stack to refresh it.

Once everyone has a Glyphbreaker, head to the center, count down, and simultaneously press all six buttons on The Witness—it’s best to assign each one a button before shooting. Remember, you have to break the seals simultaneously in every phase, not just the first.

Kill the Witness without breaking it to complete the challenge.

After completing each challenge, you will unlock an individual Triumph on the Iconoclast Title Seal. You will then need to complete each encounter challenge on Master difficulty to unlock The lithe is on Triumph.
