Originally released on Steam in January, Home Safety Helpline puts you in the role of a telephone operator helping people cope with the horrors in their own homes. Now the game is coming to consoles, and the date has been revealed alongside a recent trailer.
As is the case with all homeowner concerns, the horrors they face vary. One caller may be concerned about the stability of their home, while another may be dealing with pests of unknown origin. Or there may be something far more sinister lurking in a shadowy corner downstairs. It’s up to you, as a telephone operator trapped in a retro aesthetic and tied to a specific user interface, to make the call and take responsibility for your decisions.
Developed by Night Signal Entertainment, Home Safety Helpline comes from NIGHT SIGNAL AND A wonderful day for fishing creator Nick Lives. It’s full of ’90s technological approximations, plenty of lurking horror — the themes of which can be modified with Phobia Toggles — and low-quality music from composer David Johnsen.
In addition to the main game, the console version includes the recent Seasonal Worker DLC. Set in 1996, players take on the role of insecure, comfortable call center worker Rebecca four days before Christmas. The holidays are just around the corner, and with them a host of household dangers.
When Home Safety Helpline this time he will reach for his phone, he will do so on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch.
