Hollow Knight: Silksong Patch 1.0.28954 Adds Fresh Fixes, New Simplified Chinese Translation Following Backlash

Published:

Post-launch support for Hollow Knight: Silksong continues with patch version 1.0.28954, which is now available on the Steam public beta for the game.

A key feature of this update is the “basic implementation” of the up-to-date simplified Chinese translation, following previous backlash over the game’s initial Chinese language support included at launch, which led to a wave of negative reviews on Steam and a subsequent commitment by Silksong developer Team Cherry to improve the feature.

Following this criticism, it appears that Silksong developer Team Cherry is taking a cautious approach to implementing this fresh translation, and the studio is now inviting further feedback from players using the Simplified Chinese translation to provide feedback on its clarity, style, and spelling.

Otherwise Silksong v1.0.28954 covers another list of game fixes – although Team Cherry has stated that this list is still a work in progress and more bugs will likely be ironed out before the patch is distributed.

For now, the update aims to improve controller support on Steam, fix cases where Hornet’s plasmification status was incorrectly cleared, and ensure that Styx will always hand over rosaries when receiving the Queen Egg.
