Hit Roblox dress to impress with hotdog outfit after players used it to look like a penis walking down a runway

The creators of the Roblox hit Dress to Impress have removed a hotdog costume from the game after players used it to look like a penis.

Dress to Impress, from developer Gigi, launched on Roblox last November and has taken the controversial user-generated content platform by storm. Players are tasked with putting on themed outfits on their avatars before being ranked.

Dress to Impress is supposed to be a wholesome experience, but as reported Eurogamerthe recently added hotdog costume prompted less savory behavior. Players changed the color of the costume and paired it with a specific hat to make the design look phallic. Dress to Impress’s development manager initially welcomed Zac X/Twitter to signal the removal of the hotdog costume’s color switches, forcing players to apply it as a regular hotdog costume. However, Zac warned that if players continue to apply the costume inappropriately, it will be removed. “We want to create a safe and friendly environment for our players and it was not intended to be exploited in this way,” Zac added.

Of course, players continued to abuse it, so the hotdog costume is no more. “The thing is, we can’t just change the entire UI system to a simple hotdog costume,” Zac explained.

“Creativity is at the heart of the game and we see a lot of tweets confirming this. But we can’t give something this stern any other option. We love all of your creativity (except for the reason we’re taking it down…), but it’s better for us and the community to just end it as soon as possible.”

To this end, the Dress to Impress Hot Dog Costume has now been replaced with the Cupcake Costume. But even that had to be changed, because determined fans of the virtual penis costumes changed the color of the cupcake to make it look, you know. In response to this, the cupcake is not suitable for recoloring. Now that’s a happy ending.

The Dress to Impress warm dog uproar comes amid changes to Roblox’s policies for preschool-age users amid ongoing accusations of child safety violations, which Roblox denies. 2023 Class Action Lawsuit California has accused the Roblox corporation for misrepresenting “the effectiveness of filtering technology and its ability to keep the site unthreatening and appropriate for children.” 2021 Report by YouTube Channel People create games alleged Roblox used child labor.
