In retro news: I’m celebrating my 22nd birthday Alien HominidAND Metal snail– by people who will continue to create castle destroyers. Uploaded as a Flash browser game to the legendary multimedia site Newgrounds, Alien Hominid was one of the first noteworthy indie gems to really grab my attention. It was tough as nails, great in two-player mode, and reinvigorated the OG run ‘n’ gunning for a up-to-date audience. Better yet, it had a hilariously unconventional plot centered around a group of Fat Kids helping a murderous ET take on the man/men in black and the KGB reclaim his ship. Worth a replay. It’s aged surprisingly well.
