Hideo Kojimathe man who created and directed film games such as Metal Gear Solid 4 AND Death Strandtook to Twitter to do what many movie buffs love to do: write about 200 words on social media about a movie they recently watched. According to the renowned director, people will reassess the box office dud Joker: Folie à Deux for the next few decades.
On November 4, Kojima published a post that he recently watched Joker a sequel that can be watched at home later terrible opening weekend at the box office after the negative reviews that generally speaking he called the film a dull courtroom drama. Kojima’s post shows that he liked the animated opening segment of the film and seemed to like the “meta-perspective” of the sequel.
“In the previous film titled JokerIs it really the Joker that has delighted audiences around the world? Or maybe it was Arthur? This question is constantly asked of Lee and even the citizens of Gotham City throughout the film. We live in an era of mass production of heroes of “poetic justice”, the fight between good and evil. Recently, there have been a number of spin-off films focusing on villains. Can villains be superheroes too? Is this question posed on the big screen as a DC movie too avant-garde? Was it Joker that viewers around the world loved? Was it Arthur? And this is where opinions diverge.”
Kojima suggests that in the next “10 or 20 years” Joker 2“Reputation” will change, as will future superhero movies.
“It may take some time before it becomes a true folie à deux.” But there’s no doubt that everyone in the audience loved Joaquin and Gaga in this movie,” Kojima concluded. Will someone check this post in 10 years and write to me to see if people love me Joker 2 until then? Great, thanks!
