BioWare showed some miniature fragments Dragon Age: Veilguard‘S in the last two months the fights have been action-oriented, but so far we have only seen early encounters with Rogue Class and some spectacular spells for Mag. Now the studio is getting down to the details Guardian of the Veilfights with a 10-minute demonstration focusing on the Warrior class.
The trailer shows every step of preparing your version of protagonist Rook to face the enemies he will face as he tries to stop another world-ending catastrophe in Age of the Dragon universe. This includes assigning skills, as you will need to create a load of selected attacks similar to Mass Effect: Andromeda Instead of having a huge wheel to choose from in previous games, you navigate through a skill tree and specializations and choose gear that will be effective against the enemies you know you’ll be facing in a given task. The demo also shows the team selection screen — which features my husband Davrin and Lucanis—so you can see how team members interact with each other on the battlefield.
The encounter shown in the trailer involves a fight with Darkspawn enemies, which serve to show off the enemy’s elemental weaknesses. With the Warrior class, you’ll be able to buff your weapons with elemental affinities, such as the Fire passive, meaning you won’t be without elemental damage options if your team doesn’t have a Mage. The video also shows off companion commands, team synergy, and some stats and debuffs to keep in mind. The trailer finishes things off by showing off primers and detonators, which, again, seems very Mass effect-y refers to one character setting enemies with a status effect and the other dealing explosive damage after it. In addition to having two companions, control only by commandsit definitely feels like a lot of the design philosophies of the sci-fi series have already found their place Age of the Dragon.
Overall, despite the trend towards action, Guardian of the Veil seems to have a lot to offer under the hood. Will it be enough for those who miss tactical nature Dragon Age: Origins remains to be verified, but it still appears that many systems operate in real time. Check out the full demo below:
