Before we dive into the world of deals, you can be sure to get the biggest discounts by topping up your account with an Xbox Gift Card at the best prices in your region below.
1. Marvel’s Midnight Suns Legendary Edition
If you only buy one game during the Black Friday sale, make it this one. Marvel’s Midnight Suns Legendary edition is currently on sale for only $19.99 / £17.99 which is an absolutely stunning discount of $80/£72 off the regular price. I purchased a physical copy of this edition of the game for full price when it released in 2022 and thoroughly enjoyed it. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that this is by far the most underrated release of the last few years.
Developed by the strategy geniuses at Firaxis Games, you might recognize the name from it XCOM: Enemy Unknown Or XCOM2It’s a superhero-themed turn-based strategy game with a truly addictive and novel card mechanic. The story focuses on a group of lesser-known Marvel heroes, such as Magik and Nico Minoru, as well as some fan favorites, including Captain America and Doctor Strange, as they battle the forces of shadowy magic. You play as the Hunter, a fully customizable hero who plays a key role in this electrifying story.
In between intense turn-based battles, you can explore and upgrade your headquarters, the Abbey, while spending time with your allies. This is a fantastic experience for true Marvel Comics fans, but also for those who simply enjoy high-quality strategy games. Best of all, this version includes all of the game’s DLCs, which add tons of modern encounters and even more playable characters like the one and only Morbius.
2nd Far Cry 6 Game of the Year Edition
Another great discount, this time a mega saving of $84/£70 Far Cry 6 Game of the Year Edition. On sale for only $35.99 / £29.99this is the one I would recommend to players who want absolute bang for their money. You get an absolutely gigantic open world, the fictional Caribbean paradise island of Yara, which is just bursting with countless hours of content. I’ve put over 100 hours into the game and I still feel like I’ve only just scratched the surface of everything it has to offer.
Of course, those looking for a more condensed experience can simply stick to the story, which clocks in at around 30 hours and really Far Cry style, sees a hero trying to overthrow a tyrannical regime. This edition is packed with downloadable content, including the Jungle Expedition Pack, the Crocodile Hunter Pack, and the Deputy Pack, all of which include additional weapons and cosmetics.
You’ll also receive the Season Pass, which includes three stand-alone chapters inspired by villains from across the series. I wasn’t a huge fan of these as I thought the roguelike mechanics had become quite repetitive, but it’s still worth playing if you’re familiar with the older games.
To top it all off, Lost between worlds was also added, which is a nice, more supernatural take on the series. You explore an alternate dimension full of malicious crystal creatures under the watchful eye of a strange alien companion. It takes about five hours to complete, making it a great break from the main narrative.
3. Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition
One of the best games of last year at half price? It can’t go wrong. Alan Wake 2 Deluxe Edition this is an absolute steal and is currently on sale only £39.99 / £32.49.
In the base game, you switch between dual heroes Alan Wake and Saga Anderson as they investigate the mysteries of the remote American town of Bright Falls. A seemingly uncomplicated murder quickly turns into a supernatural journey as Wake, trapped in a nightmarish alternate dimension, tries to contact Anderson in order to escape.
The Deluxe Edition it comes with some nice cosmetics and two meaty extensions, both of which are definitely worth your time. The Night Springs The DLC is quite low and episodic, and offers some enjoyable challenges in which you play as various characters from the main game. Recently released House by the lake the expansion then becomes much more substantial and really doubles down on the horror side of the series.
My only advice is for newcomers to complete the first game Alan Wake Or Remastered Alan Wake album before delving into the details, as otherwise it could be quite arduous to follow the entire plot. Luckily, this remaster is also on sale and can be yours for $7.49 / £6.24.
4. Halo: The Master Chief Collection
Halo: The Master Chief Collection it’s almost a must-have for any Xbox owner, and if you don’t already have one, it’s on sale now only $9.99 / £7.49. For this price you get six Halo games, including absolute classics such as Halo: Combat has evolved and beloved spinoffs like Halo 3: EPISODE.
The extensive story campaigns included here are worth the price of admission alone, as when you put them all together you’ll end up with approximately 55 hours of content. There is also a multiplayer mode with over 120 maps and a selection of modes taken from the games in the collection. The Forge level editor is also back, allowing you to create your own battle arenas and share them online if you want.
While this collection was originally released on Xbox One, Xbox Series X owners can enjoy significantly improved graphics with 4K support at up to 120 frames per second. Xbox Series S users can expect 1080p resolution, but at an increased frame rate of 120 frames per second. Halo 2: Anniversaryi.e. the version included in this document, also has its own remastered graphics, with the option to restore the original appearance at any time if you prefer.
EA Sports College Football 25 will be at the top of many wish lists this holiday season, but if you buy on Black Friday you can score an absolutely amazing deal for incredible value Deluxe Edition. After a $40/£40 cut, its price dropped to only $59.99 / £59.99which is less than you’d expect for one of the biggest sports games of the year.
Return EA Sports College Football series was a huge event in July and marked the first installment of the series since 2013. The game literally flew off the shelves as players delved into its various game modes, including the popular College Football Ultimate Team.
This edition is perfect if you want to dive into the game with a substantial boost, as it offers 4,600 College Football Points and a bonus credit package.
6. The Return of 4 Blood
Rounding things up is The return of 4 Blooda cooperative zombie-killing extravaganza inspired by timelessness 4 left dead which is for sale only $5.99 / £5.99. This is another game that I played and enjoyed upon release, and I especially recommend it if you’re looking for a inexpensive game that will be absolutely fantastic with friends.
It has a highly replayable co-operative campaign where you fight waves of undead and terrifying bosses as one of eight customizable playable characters. Although it’s a first-person shooter, the game uses a unique card system that controls everything from your character’s abilities to equipment and the types of enemies you encounter – keeping each modern playthrough feeling fresh.
It supports a maximum of three other players on your party, though it’s still completely enjoyable if you prefer to play one-on-one with your AI companions. Just remember that you may start to have problems on higher difficulties solo.
