- Harry Potter: Magic Awakened to be closed
- The deck-building card game will be shut down in all countries outside Asia
- It looks like the publishing deal with NetEase is keeping the company afloat
Deckbuilding card game Harry Potter: Magic Awakened is set to be shut down in America, Europe, and Oceania. However, it will still be available in China and most of the East, allegedly thanks to an ongoing publishing deal with NetEase. In-app purchases have already been shut down and servers will be shut down on October 29th of this year, and the game has already been removed from all storefronts.
Magic Awakened, due out in 2023, joins the unfortunate group of games that have been shelved this year, though, and it certainly raises a lot of questions about the popularity of HP’s enduring series and NetEase’s staying power to keep things going for as long as they’ve planned.
