Halo: Campaign Evolved – remake Halo: Combat has evolved will be released on PS5 next year – will be a major development focus for Halo Studios.
As part of a community update, the team confirmed that they are pausing content updates for existing Xbox and PC exclusive games Hello Infinitewhich was originally intended to be supported for over a decade. This was achieved in just four years.
“As we continue to develop multiple Halo titles, we will need the focus of our entire team to deliver new experiences with the same passion and care that our community has provided us,” a studio spokesperson said.
To be forthright, the content drop looks pretty significant, and the studio isn’t completely giving up on this journey – for example, it will still be maintained and the servers will remain online.
However, the team says they now need to focus on what comes next:
“As the Halo Studios team focuses on projects in development like Halo: Campaign Evolved, we would like to thank our Halo Infinite players for their years of continued support.”
Since there is no PvP multiplayer in Halo: Campaign Evolved, there are rumors that Halo Studios is planning a standalone, free client that will bring the series’ core competitive suite to PS5.
We know that the future of Master Chief and others is now cross-platform, and PS5 plays a huge role in that, so it will be intriguing to see what else it has to offer beyond the aforementioned remake.
