The fact that it drops one tier above the regular rewards certainly doesn’t hurt.

The Festival of the Lost has a fresh submachine gun, the Gunburn, that is sure to strike fear into the hearts of the Headless. The fresh Kinetic Lightweight weapon offers the newly released Kinetic perks, as well as one of the most desired perks in primary weapons that don’t deal elemental damage.

Gunburn already faces stiff competition Multimach CCX, which is a beloved, accessible, iconic, heritage submachine gun Orbs of Attrition/Kinetic Shocks available at the Banshee-44 booth. Still, Gunburn takes up to 10 percent more damage because it counts as fresh gearwhich may be enough for you to consider switching, and its bonus pool also includes fresh additions.

This is our god Gunburn in PvE Destiny 2Festival of the Lost, based on bonus information from delicate.gg.

  • Barrel: Polygonal thread, Corkscrew thread or Chamber compensator.
  • Mage: Expandable Magnet, Tactical Magazine, Alloy Magazine or Secondary Magazine.
  • First advantage: A stunning explosion.
  • Second advantage: Kinetic shocks and secondary weapons.
    • Distinction: One for all.

In our Gunburn God Set, we focus on the core kinetic benefits: A stunning explosion in the third column plus Kinetic shocks and/or Auxiliary weapons in the fourth.

Gunburn’s third column doesn’t pose any major difficulties. Stunning Blast is definitely our favorite because it can disorient enemies without much preparation. If you are looking for something else, Boxer is usually a good choice for melee-based builds, while Lead from Light can lend a hand you get extra special ammo. Threat detector it’s not bad either, especially since the Gunburn’s base reload speed isn’t very speedy, and Lone Wolf may be somewhat redundant in the case Search Group origin trait (although Veist Stinger may be the key here). Still, we think the exclusive Kinetic add-on is at the top.

The fourth column contains more realistic options: Kinetic shocks AND Auxiliary weapons however, these are our favorite types One for all still provides a mighty damage buff. Orbs of Attrition is in this column, which means he’s up against some massive hitters and probably won’t be of much exploit here. Binary orbit can work, especially with access to solar, arc, or vacuum damage, although we’re leaning towards others.

For parts, our priority is faster reloads, preferably with some stability. However, these are not the most critical aspects of the weapon, so this should be a tiebreaker rather than an actual criteria.

Overall, you’ll find plenty of options in Gunburn, although we recommend focusing on the kinetic elements of his kit – especially if you’re using the Techsec kit bonus.

How to get Gunburn in Destiny 2

The Gunburn pistol is available as part of the Festival of the Lost and debuted in the 2025 edition of the event. Has a chance to drop wherever Festival of the Lost engrams can be obtained. Haunted Altars are the safest bet, with two awesome engrams and a chance for extra drops. Some Portal activities, marked with the Eerie Engram icon, may also provide Halloween-themed rewards.

However, the submachine gun will disappear after the event ends, so it’s best to go for a ride while the celebration lasts. Similar to Solstice, any Festival of the Lost items you receive will drop one tier above the regular rewards.
